  1. This build gets my attention with every post. Amazing detail work that doesn't look "overdone" ...very realistic. I really should be looking for my Tiddlywinks again! ?? Joe

  3. This is cool! ? Joe
  4. Okay, thought I would post one more comment for those interested in the Pace Peace Keeper similar to the model I have. I just finished applying a second coat of Spar Varnish to the three wood pieces that will attach to a set of wind chimes. I experienced very little to no detection of odor while brushing the Spar Varnish, or within the house with the paint booth operating. It is amazing to me how well this paint booth works because if you know about Spar Varnish you know that stuff can really stink! First time I ever had the nerve to apply the Spar Varnish within the house and I was very happy not to have the obnoxious fumes spread throughout my home. Just thought someone might be able to use my experience to aid in making a paint booth decision. Joe
  5. Looks great! I really like this model and would certainly enjoy building another one. Well done! ? Joe

  7. My bride and I stopped in at HL this afternoon to purchase some puzzles for her and they were marked 40% off along with the model kits. While there I picked up a can of spray paint that will be used for the 1960 Buick HT that is being restored. And SHE picked out the 1934 Ford PU kit…said it was “cute”. ?? Joe
  8. Thanks, Daniel! ? Joe

  10. A nifty little aircraft model that's been around for quite some time but still looks good when built. ? Joe
  11. A legend in our lifetime. I can still recall hearing him playing with the Yardbirds and thinking he was really going to be someone special with that guitar playing of his. Rest In Peace. Joe
  12. A real nice tip! ? Joe
  13. As a suggestion following the above post: Some time ago I purchased an entire estate sale of models and model kits. Was about 1300 items or so and took up the entire basement to store on shelves and in boxes. What a neat feeling to sell some of the items, give a number of them away to local modelers that I knew at the time, and, just enjoy looking at the box art. Then, one morning as I was looking at the new Fine Scale magazine issue, I came across a request for models to be sent overseas to our troops engaged in the Desert Storm war. I visited our local VFW and they were excited to be able to eventually send about 700 models out for us. Joyce and I were delivering additional models to the VFW on Saturday mornings and we were happy to send them. Some of the models were taken to a Veterans Hospital and that was good. I am suggesting that this would make a good option for you if you are considering what you want done with your model collection when you pass. Personally, I would not want my wife to have to handle the task and possibly have to meet people that would only want to take advantage of her in order to make a profit later. Please give the suggestion some consideration; I know that I feel good knowing ahead of time just where my model kits and supplies are going. ? Joe

  15. You did a nice looking COE here. Well done! ? Joe
  16. Nice looking models in this collection. Well done! ? Joe
  17. An interesting build indeed that has caught my attention. Joe
  18. Probably close to 175 kits/projects down in the shop. Enough that I most likely will never get them all built. However, as my bride often tells me..."it's fun just to look at the model boxes." ??? "Joe, do you want to go into town and look for any new model kits at HL?" "No, dear, I have plenty to work with as it is." "Is it 40% Off week?" "Yes, it is." "Then we need to go see if there is anything new for you to look at." "Yes, dear." ??? Joe
  19. Only if you feel like you are going to be under the bench, or on your hands and knees crawling over the floor, for awhile looking for that runaway part and the nourishment will help you to rise up on your feet again. Joe
  20. Been there and done that...just today. A flashlight, and a paint stir stick with wide tape running the length of the paddle and then folded back over itself so that the sticky side is on the outside, can be your friends. ? Joe
  21. Hope you are successful with finding employment that is fulfilling and enjoyable. Take it a day at a time and have some fun during this time of renewal. Joe
  22. Nice looking and colorful collection. Well done! ? Joe
  23. Looking like a winner! ? Joe
  24. I think you will be able to find employment without too much trouble. The trick is to find work that you can enjoy and that can offer opportunities for advancement to those willing to go the extra mile. From my own experience I can say this: having been laid off a few times I found that each subsequent employment offered me more responsibilities and income, and, most important, I would end up enjoying the new duties more than the previous job. Make the most out of the opportunities coming your way and enjoy the lemonade! ? Joe
  25. Great looking 1:1 cars from that era and your model does the real car proud. Well done! ? Joe
