  1. How about the roof from the Lindberg Triumph GT 6?
  2. Sorry to hear about your mom . I hope things look up for you soon.
  3. There are a lot of differing opinions when it comes to paint. Enamels (the can you bought) can be difficult to work with and they take a long time to dry. Tamiya paint is really great stuff, I like to use automotive lacquers they can be found at auto parts stores. I would also recommend either duplicolor or plasticote primers . Research is the most important tool you can use. Pictures of the actual car will help you notice the little things that will help you build a better model. Treat each sub assembly as a separate model , see how much detail you can add to the steering wheel or the back side of the passenger side seat you'll be surprised at little details that add up to a nice model. Good luck and be sure to ask specific questions you will get more responses.
  4. weathering is a process that uses many different methods there's airbrushing, chalks , even just adjusting the sheen of your paint. Most is trial and error and practicing . I'm sure weathering has been covered somewhere on this board several times. research is your best friend when weathering a rally car you want to find pictures of the specific car so you can see where the dirt ends up its always different some cars end up with dirt just behind the wheels some have dirt all the way back up to the belt line.use google to search for tips instead of the search feature here.
  5. Fix the problem areas before continuing, One coat usually dries pretty fast so sanding it next day should be fine unless the paint was sprayed way too heavy. I usually use duplicolor or plasticote primers from the autoparts store . the one coat clear I think is just fine but again the automotive clear lacquers are usually fine over dry hobby lacquers.
  6. Welcome back.
  7. Well I've at least seen a Lamborghini Cheetah which I've always liked .
  8. I like the interior details .
  9. Looks like a fun build.
  10. I don't know why but I thought this stuff wasn't available anymore. Has anyone purchased anything recently? There is some unique subject matter there and the price list doesn't seem to prohibitive.
  11. That was informative,I've added it to my favorites for when I need it. Thanks Chuck!
  12. I really like the projects you come up with and the swift execution of largely scratchbuilt unique subject matter. when did you start on this? Is this actually two days worth of work ?
  13. I like the lines , it's got a good flow to it.
  14. I'd rather an old thread be brought back than a new one started. Lot's of good info from the early days.
  15. if there is one thing I could improve in regards to my modeling skills it would be putting them to good use and finishing a model. I've seen guys that can really crank them out and I think that is a skill worth improving. On the painting side of things even simple graphics are way more difficult than I thought and I would like to improve that aspect.
  16. Jeff, I have one of each of the first run . I just haven't had the bench time to put them to good use.
  17. Has anyone used the photoetched bead locks from www.dirtmodeler.com/ on anything?
  18. great job!
  19. Mine was in 2002, I remember being skeptical so I started small I got a good deal on a bagged 82ish mpc mustang. After that was completed I recognized the potential for being able to find all those vintage kits that I couldn't find locally. Later I learned patience will get me that old kit for the right price.
  20. I hope everything goes as good as possible for you.
  21. Truly one of the greats both at building and encouraging . Love and prayers for his family.
  22. I agree, if you just slide the next size up of tubing hiding the current tube creating a floating look I think it will be perfect.
  23. I don't know about asymmetry ruling ,but this looks pretty cool . I second the release of any of these flat front pickups or vans I am kind of partial to the Chevies though.
