  1. It may be a long shot, but worth checking Keith Marks decals. I just checked Ray's Decals, but he doesn't have them.
  2. Man, that is one beautiful funny car. I love all the Mickey Thompson Mustangs, but this lesser seen car (in 1:1) is particularly striking. Very nicely done. Are the decals kit decals, or Slixx?
  3. Nicely done, Michelle. I like the new colours.
  4. Interesting stuff. Pinstriping is perhaps the most frustrating part of trying to create a graphics package for a replica of a given car. I've tried a number of different approaches with varying degrees of success, but never fully satisfied. Some of this nail art stuff looks quite intriguing. I just checked some out on Amazon. Quite a rabbit hole there. Lots of interesting graphic products that could be useful for model cars, especially the low rider guys.
  5. Jim, that is really looking the business. Loving everything about it.
  6. This beast is coming alive. Must look very impressive in person. The build is looking great.
  7. Looking great, David. Nice work marrying the body to the chassis. It's really shaping up.
  8. I may have access to such equipment. I try to get an analysis done, but it may take a while. My guess is it contains a significant percentage of tin.
  9. Wow! That is just gorgeous, Ryan. What a sweet little B. A very clean build, and high degree of realism. The colour is inspired, and the combination of pale yellow and brown interior is perfect. All round great build. I built one of these kits a couple years ago, and like you, found it to be a great kit that went together exceptionally well. Top marks on yours. Cheers.
  10. Cool stuff, Tim. Very impressive build for a 14 year old, and a top shelf restoration. Digging that cool fade paint. Was the original done with a spray bomb or an airbrush? Oh, one other question; How do you keep the front end down during a launch? Cheers.
  11. Cue Peteski...?
  12. Welcome to the forum, Chris.
  13. Well done, Tom. Nice and clean, and great looking paint. That's one good looking Pontiac.
  14. A very nice build. Nice, clean work, and the paint is fantastic. Very well done.
  15. Very nice! I love the old school style. Lovely build.
  16. Back in the 80s there was a fellow in my hometown with a '71 Mustang that he painted with a vacuum cleaner. The texture was not unlike that of the roller paint job. I strongly suspect that he used house paint. Back in the good ole days you could buy spraying equipment that fitted to the outlet of a vacuum cleaner. Not so great for cars, but fine for throwing some paint at the lattice work on the deck, etc. Ah, the days of simple innovation.
  17. Thanks for that. They always bugged me too. Good to see they are actually well done.
  18. Love it! Mickey Thompson's Mustangs were my favourite funnies of the era. This one is looking super nice.
  19. This seems to be a project on which you are sweating the details. As such, and if you have the means, I suggest going for the tires with detailed sidewalls. Any model, but especially trucks, where the tires are large and exposed, sidewall detail matters. For those modelers who build for realism and authenticity, bare sidewalls just won't cut it. Unfortunately, the stripping of sidewall detail is a travesty that high-end builders have had to navigate around for a couple decades now.
  20. It's a fine line between a groove and a rut.
  21. Perhaps. That was my first thought when I heard of the stuff, but then they mentioned it as a treatment for 'blooming' on old tires. I have a ton of old tires turning white & powdery, and this stuff just might be the solution (pun not intended). I have tried soaking them in bleach, which seems to work, but I hate messing with bleach.
  22. This is coming along great. You're nailing the look at all turns. Loving it!
  23. Interesting. I'm going to look into this. I don't actually use much solvent glue these days, but there are times when it is the 'go to' choice.
  24. The first place I would look is Keith Marks Public Home | mofobow@hotmail.com | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
  25. This is the first I've heard of them. They have a juicy looking 351 Cleveland that I could certainly find a use for.
