Gravity Colors, amazing service!
BVC500 replied to aurfalien's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
This is currently my situation. Printed the label days ago, no movement. This is after Mate promised weeks ago I'd have my order. Big notice on his site about COVID-19 impacts, but these delays aren't unusual for him coronavirus or not. Just wish he'd be more honest - if you aren't ready to ship, don't print the shipping label and mark the order as complete. -
Nice job! I like the color combo.

I don't know, but sinkholes are depressing. ?
-
I'd expect a ton of sinkholes nevertheless. Look at the Ferrari California and the Porsche Panamera. Oddly enough, the McLaren 570 and Mercedes AMG GT were pretty well-molded.

Was the Revell supposed to be a new kit or a rebox of the Italeri?
-
I would have preferred Italieri invest in a renewal of its Ferrari license or created new kits, because most of these reissues are pretty crude kits, as most of them are from that era. Remember their Porsche 993 models? They used a bunch of leftover parts from the 964, including the interior and suspension, which was wholly inaccurate for the 993.

Thank you, sir! I hadn't run across that photo yet. Glad it's a new tool and I hope it's followed by the convertible. This may be the most exciting release this year, followed by the MX-5 RF, for me. At least styrene kits. Can't wait for the Alpha Models Aston Martins and new Ferraris. Aoshima also cryptically said on their FB page that they'll produce more exciting models in 2020. Hopefully that means new car kits and not variants of pre-existing ones.

I take it Revell didn't show a mock up of the Jaguar E type coupe?
-
Nice color combo, and clean build!
-
Nice to see new kits, but not so nice when I have no interest in them. Agree that more SUVs should be kitted, but aspirational vehicles or ones that can be modified with aftermarket parts are more likely to sell better due to broader appeal. On those lines, I'd like to see a Benz G-glass, Aston DBX, Lambo Urus, etc.

Nice to see the E-type redone, but why not coupe and convertible like the Porsche 356 models?
-
Nice start and thanks for sharing tips! I have this kit too, so keenly interested in your build.

The 750il isn't that bad to build, though the front sit a little high. I also built the 3 series, which is fine too if you shave the back of the separate headlight buckets that then allows the bumper and lenses to sit closer to the body. The Tamiya instructions for the 8 and 3 series also had extra constructive tips that the Revell instructions did not.

Interesting, I guess. While there are some older cars and models I'd like to see redone, I wish they'd focus on new cars too!
-
Cool color! Very nice build.

Great color combo! Nice job.
-
Thanks again! I'm tempted to build a couple more in other Aston colors that I like, but: 1) the kit is discontinued and aftermarket prices are too high; and 2) maybe I should work on the 130+ kits I have!

Thanks all for the compliments!

Started in 2011, finished in 2019! Really enjoyed building these Tamiya Aston Martin DBS models. Used a combo of Hobby Design metal decals and FG Model wheels. Painted in @Scalefinishes's Aston Martin Amethyst Red Metallic and Casino Royale colors and Tamiya TS-13 clear.
