I am really digging the big Chevy. I have one of every year in my collection, but I only have one what I could call done. It is a '71, that started as a glue-bomb that was a total mess, but like you, I cannot stomach the prices that an un-built kit would command, so I buy workable built-ups, with the exception of the '76 kits, which I bought several of.
As you can see, I like copper too.
The big thing I am not crazy about is the poorly executed Big Block Chevrolet Powertrain in these kits. I understand that it is old tooling that dates back to the '60's, as my '68 SS427 has the same engine. My Mom's Impala had the base 350 V8, with the 2 bbl carb and A/C. I may try to replicate that for my model when I get back to it.
