  1. I'll remember that when I get it done if anyone asks...
  2. Looks good, Gary.
  3. Good idea about making it a stock version. Wonder what it takes to convince them? Looks great.
  4. Yep. That's kinda where I am with this. Remembering things guys might build on their own.
  5. I have an unopened AMT 1/25 Bill Elliot NASCAR T bird. PM me - I'll make you a great deal on it! lol I may have some Monogram 1/24 NASCAR kits as well.
  6. This is Testors lacquer from a spray can. I have no idea what the color name is. After the zombie apocalypse when flies mutated to the size of house cats. lol
  7. Do you have the Johnny Lightning Daytona? I saw it is being rereleased and thought of you immediately. I assume it is a rerelease. Are there any reasonable 1/43 Daytonas? I have several of the Eagle's Race Corvette grandsports, Roadsters and Coupes. A couple Daytonas would look good with them.
  8. Yep. Looks good. I think several of those have been sold on your post. You're welcome JADA. LOL. These are the Welly wheels, right?
  9. THanks. Straight out of box, using the options included in kit. Something a little less common for sure. I should have wired the plugs, but didn't have any black wire on hand.
  10. I used maroon vinyl dye spray paint from Autozone. not as bright and purply as in photo and it "blushed" on me a bit.
  11. I do love your builds. More than once I have been motivated to build a kit because of your builds.
  12. I have this kit and just can't get motivated to build it. I like how this looks though.
  13. I know I'm late to the party with my reply, but when I built mine, I went ahead and installed the windsheild before foiling it to avoid this sort of thing - I know how I can break things and it seemed safest way to do it.
  14. I'm not sure this is a modern thing - I've had other Revellogram kits with similar plastic "alloy" over the years. I'm working on a circa 1989 Lotus that is similar plastic. Seems like plastic alloys are all over the place - from hard and brittle to super soft. But the tooling on this one may be part of the issue as well. Just not sharp as some things I've built.
  15. Dove gray will NEVER grace my collection. Probably no tan, either, other than the Danbury Mint 41 Chevy I have. I do need a gold car sometime soon. That might be good when the Revell 69 Chevelle comes out. Gold, black stripes, some period mags, maybe Torque thrusts? Yeah I can work with that...
  16. Thanks for the compliments. I have a big part of my collection on display and there is a marked LACK of greens in my collection. So I am correcting that. and this green is bright for sure. I think it will go well in the collection. And the pastel gives it some extra 50s kick. I do have a "sublime" green car or two in the collection - I am a Mopar fan, so it's an easy pick. I am trying to go with colors that aren't just easy picks. I like my collection to show off a lot of colors. And bright colors - I avoid black cars as much as possible - they don't display well in my display (unlighted) I could build/own this car for real. Trying to keep it like I would be able to build it for real myself. Hope to get some clear on it this week so I can do the chrome and see how it's going to look for real.
  17. Thanks. I have the chassis on all four wheels, engine in place. Been working on body clean up, got the dash removed and glued together like you showed in yours. Console and seats cleaned up. Been working on something else for a while. THe guy I'm building this one for decided on teal. Chezoom teal - there are a couple on the net that are close to this color. So I have a target color. Probably go with gray interior at this point. Have to look up some photos and see what exactly I need to do. Here's a builder's tip for others: I did put the hatch in place because on the box art car, it has some poor fit issues. And sure enough, the kit parts were the same. So I put the hatch in place to see what needed to be adjusted. I think I have it pretty even by sanding the edges to match the body. The rest of the body isn't too wavy. The front bumper and hood has some waviness that a sanding stick will smooth out. The panel gasp aren't bad - I pass or two with your favorite tool will clean those up.
  18. Today's work... Still no interior. Looking for door handles and arm rests.
  19. That was my first thought. But I decided on the 50s aqua just to exaggerate the 50s feel.
  20. I got a little excited and went ahead and painted this morning. Testors extreme lacquer, I think it is. Supposed to be paint and primer? Figured I'd give it a whirl direct to plastic. I like it! I did have a few errant gouges show up from my scribing. That's the bad part of this paint. But it's not a show piece. Tomorrow I hope to do the top and inserts in old fashioned testors mm enamel. 50s aqua. I'll have most of the car complete except interior pretty quick.
  21. I never have bought a model that I didn't intend to build or use parts from. However, I have bought so many over the years that I accidentally became a kit collector almost. Lol
  22. I have a convertible 1/18. I'll sell it off one of these days after this build is on the shelf. Those are fairly nice diecasts for their prices.
  23. Sure. But every model has issues. Just going to build the best I can. Having fun with it.
  24. We're getting somewhere...
  25. Not really that much better. I have tried it. My current CA of choice is Duro in the little metal tubes. 1.88 for 4 little tubes, each with their own new nozzle. Very thin and doesn't seem to fog as bad as other brands. I have even successfuly glued in glass with this brand and no fogging. As Snake said, if it ruins itself, throw it away and get a new one out. I will squeez some out and either drag the part through the pool for a thin film or drag a dental pick through to get a little on there to transfer to the part. Or a drop directly to a dental pick tip.
