  1. Nice rescue and repair.
  2. Sweet!
  3. Bill, you certainly are a master. Beautiful work!
  4. This is where the GUNS will go on this one! I have noticed a LOT of cars of this era have a storage compartment there, especially roadsters that didn't have much storage to start with.
  5. Thanks! NICE builds of yours. I was never really interested in these til recently. But they are a challenge to build and at this point I want challenges like this. I've built nearly every mainstream kit produced from AMT, Revell, Mongram, MPC, Lindberg, etc. I feel like my skills are the best they've ever been right now - they may start falling off any day. I do most of my building with my glasses off to be able to see up close. So it's glasses on to find parts, look at instructions. Glasses off to actually deal with parts and paint. And repeat til complete. So my next few builds are of things I have NOT built. Classics of one sort or another. Minicraft TR3, Monogram TR8 (have not built that one), the Rolls, the Caddy, the Hellers. And yes, build these kits. They are interesting and defintely challenging if you're used to "regular" kits of muscle cars and such.
  6. Thanks. The friend I'm building for has sent me this one, a monogram 31 Rolls, a Johan 31 Cadillac, and 3 Heller kits to build for him. Plus some other non classic kits. I enjoy building them, he pays me a little to build, and I don't have to worry about what to do with them forever. I enjoy them till he comes to get them.
  7. Just finished. I built the connoisseur classic version a long time ago. This is built for a friend. It was fun to do it again with better skills. This one could have been better, but overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Headlight are aimed terribly. I'd hate to drive it at night. But the attachment points are vague. Still got to work on the gangsters.
  8. Super nice!!!
  9. Thanks. Just a bit of bragging here - MY panel lines are tighter than Franklin Mints... LOL!!! This kit is deceptively simple. Nothing particularly difficult. I did cut the interior panels out and detailed them with cranks from a Revell 60 impala. Other than that, it is straight from the box. It does take a bit of cleaning on the body and rescribing the panel lines helps a lot. And it looks great in a 50s car collection. I am trying to "focus" my collection. I used to buy and build EVERY KIT. So I have a ton of stuff. But in the last year, I have limited to mostly American 30s to 60s, with a couple later muscle cars in there. Like you if I go too far out, it gets unwieldy. BUT, I have this displayed on the coffee table in family room. It sits on a display case that hold the Lamborghini Muira I built recently, because the Muira is the BEST looking Italian car ever, right??? LOL Thanks everyone for your compliments.
  10. Just a note to let ya know this looks great and the FEEL of your build was part of my inspiration for my 53 BelAir in the Under Glass section.
  11. I loved that kit when it was an annual. Something about the body was just so nice. Go figure. I also bought a recent reissue to build a slot car body like a buddy's shorttrack car. I probably won't ever get to it. No slot track now. But I do like the directions you guys are taking. Will keep a watch on this.
  12. Those are nice! Glad you finally got them.
  13. Beautiful! I haven't seen one of hte DeAgositini models finished, so this is a nice point of reference. Feel free to share more photos if you want. I'd love to see more of it.
  14. Dann Tier did some burl wood in his Reengineered Lotus Esprit thread. Check there too. About hte same process as indicated above.
  15. The FM car is a monster, size wise. So yeah if you wait you can find them reasonably priced. I think mine was less than $50 delivered, with guitar and all. It's nice to have the big cars really be imposing when beside other cars.
  16. Nice 1/43s. I have some of every scale, even micro machines from back in the day. I guess if one looks, they can find enough of any scale to build a nice collection. I quit 1/18 as well, because of size and poor detail on the Ertl stuff and can't afford the high end things, at least to have a collection like I want.
  17. Nice! the ONLY car I've ever owned perfectly in model and real is a 2007 Ford Edge. There is a 1/43 James Bond version that I have that I repainted to match mine. Cool that you found one of your real car.
  18. That came out great!
  19. Yep, that's why I said we've all seen it before. I couldn't remember who, but knew it had been on here. I've got so may things to do, I have no diea if I'll ever have time to do any detailing on it. But as you said - it doesn't need much. I'm not even sure where if tis in my collection, but on sale, I'll take about anything - someone else may want it. I like the blue better and have nowhere to put either of them right now...
  20. We've all seen this one, but found them on sale at HL. Got a white and blue one. Wife likes white on so blue can go to a new home. Hit me up with trades if anyone wants it. 1/24 scale.
  21. I have the blue in 1/64 and got lucky on the 1/24 Franklin Mint pink one with guitar a few months back. But good to see them coming. If cheap enough, would be a nice set of wheels and tires. Engine maybe? Other parts harvest?
  22. That looks pretty cool. Thanks for sharing those.
