  1. Blasphemy!!! That's a Grand Sport Corvette color!!!
  2. Probably the nearest facility that sorts on Sundays.
  3. Just remember: It's true if you believe it.
  4. Hmmm... Looks like only the PPG chip book calls code F Surf Foam Blue, every other reference I see for it calls it Skymist Blue, including the Acme chip book with a 1959 copyright. Maybe PPG was the OEM supplier and there were plans to call it that or it could just be a goof on PPG's part. A search for 1960 Surf Foam Blue on the touchup sites will return code F. I'm a sucker for this stuff, too! Anyway, whatever it is, it makes for a beautiful model!
  5. #1. I'm always gonna vote for Cragars!
  6. I'll try. I wasn't going to buy one for myself and I don't want to open up a kit from stock but we are planning on starting up a series of in depth in-box reviews when the boss gets back from vacation next week. I'll suggest this one as a good choice.
  7. 57 Ford and Superbug were in March's video. They probably air ship a few samples so they have them a few weeks in advance of the container shipment.
  8. *checks calendar* Hmmm..... edit: I will say this, when Academy announced their coupe, Ed Sexton was working for MRC, their US distributor. I always got the impression he was the driving force behind that and once he left to go back to Revell it died. So this doesn't surprise me at all IF this turns out to not be a prank!
  9. It's not something you can get cheap at WalMart, but I say get some black superglue. Awesome stuff for filling, it sands really nice and doesn't get too hard like normal superglue. Not that great a glue for just sticking stuff together but I use it all the time now for filling. As for stuff around the house I've mixed pencil lead graphite into superglue before, it goes pretty dark.
  10. It's like, how much more black could this be? and the answer is none. None more black.
  11. No, they didn't go the full-Styline treatment. Looks like the small chrome tree are the recreated parts - bumperettes, shifter, dog-dish hubcaps. The rest were just opened up on the runners, not sure what's what I don't know the older issues that well.
  12. The total state & local tax for San Antonio is 8.25% - https://www.salestaxhandbook.com/texas/rates/san-antonio
  13. No. Not legally, anyway. They're still going to take their fees out, of course. Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon are the states that have no sales tax. Alaska doesn't have a state-wide sales tax, but certain municipalities do have a local sales tax. Sales tax isn't something you mess around with. You're better off not charging when you should than charging when you shouldn't.

  15. Since we're on the subject of BMF'ing, one of the best tips I ever picked up was to just hold the blade in your fingers without a handle when trimming. I use 10A scalpel blades. I get much better control that way.
  16. The automobile companies are publicly traded, they have to tell us that stuff by law. Private companies don't have to tell us jack. And what difference would it make? It wouldn't get it here any quicker. Look at the Moebius strategy of a couple years ago. They overshared, they told us too much and it hurt them long term. Gets you a reputation of not following through or of being constantly behind. Now look at how Tamiya does things, they don't make a peep until the kit is almost done and ready. They make an announcement then it's on shelves in around a month. Folks don't get burned out on hype. Makes it look like they have their $#@! together, but who knows, there could have been months and months of set backs and retoolings and changes but we never know because they didn't say anything. Model kits can take 2 or 3 years to make it through development. I knew about the Revell Model A nearly 3 years before it hit shelves and couldn't say anything until it was formally announced. It was agonizing. What kit will ever be able to live up to 3 years of hype? I used to want to be one of the "elite few" and find out about everything in the pipeline but it just gets you burnt out on waiting. Now I'm just as clueless as everyone else w/r/t new stuff, the 66 Suburban was the last thing I knew about before it became official. Knowing doesn't get it here any quicker.
  17. That's always been the case, sales tax is determined by shipping address. There were only 4 states left that collect sales tax and don't already have an Amazon facility (Hawaii, Idaho, Maine and New Mexico) so it doesn't change anything unless you live in one of those 4 states. You still don't pay tax on out-of-state 3rd party sales, this just affects direct Amazon sales.
  18. If they're in the same state you pay sales tax. That's pretty standard across the internet. It's possible the seller has a facility or affiliate in your state. Large eBay sellers will often use regional fulfillment partners it's possible they have one in your state. They would still collect regardless of whether the item shipped from that location. A lot of eBay sellers now just order the item for you off Amazon and send it to you as a "gift" (I've personally had this happen a couple times lately) so maybe they're charging you for the Amazon tax they'll be paying. Amazon charges sales tax if there is an Amazon facility in your state if it was sold by Amazon (regardless of whether the facility it ships from is in your state) or if the seller is in your state for 3rd party Amazon Marketplace sellers. You're supposed to pay the sales tax yourself on items bought out-of-state, that's always been the case even before the internet. It's not widely enforced but I can see states starting to enforce it more due to falling revenues from more and more online sales. Source: we sell on Amazon and eBay plus my uncle does SALT reverse audits.
  19. Yep, got ours late yesterday: https://www.megahobby.com/products/1957-ford-hardtop-1-25-amt.html https://www.megahobby.com/products/volkswagen-beetle-superbug-gasser-1-25-amt.html
  20. Should be a Roush 427R "Sideoiler" which, IIRC, is based on a Windsor block not an FE like the original Sideoiler. Revell had a contest for modelers to choose the next Foose kit and this won the contest. Some higher-res pics from Revell: Somebody please do a F O R D tailgate, please!
  21. Stock-ish. It's kinda a mishmosh of years. It's like a mid-80's Fleetwood Brougham 2-door with an early 90's front end and body cladding. Pretty common swap in the lowrider scene.
  22. I've been hearing rumors of a late 70's/early 80's Chevy Malibu for a while.
  23. That's a Model King project, they need to sell some more Melrose Missles before they bring out the California Flash S/S or the full A/FX versions that I know they have plans for.
  24. I believe that new green is called Krypton Green on a Camaro, it was originally a 2016 Holden color called "Spitfire".
