  1. Wasn't easy. I glued the upper A arms on first, let them dry good and then moved to the rest of the front suspension.
  2. Thanks for the comments. Like I said, not my best effort but looks good with my other Petty builds.
  3. I didn't open the cowl vent, they are just molded that deep.
  4. Nice looking Nova. What did you use for chassis/rollcage?
  5. Just completed my first model for 2022. This is my version of Richard Petty's 1970 Sportsman Dart. Not the best kit in my opinion nor my best effort. Just glad to have another Petty car in my collection. Started with the Amt reissue of this kit. Testors Big Bad Blue with Tamiya Gloss Clear. Had some fitment issues all over, body and chassis.
  6. Awesome. Will need a few of these as well as AWB.
  7. Have often thought about getting one these to build. Have always liked the look of this car and "Rooster" wasn't bad driver either. Just can't get past the kit decals. Wish someone would bring a good set of decals out for this car and the 87 version. Anyway, great job on your build. Looks great.
  8. I remember building that years ago when the kit came out. I was what 10-12 yrs old at the time. Didn't look that good. have been thinking about building another one but just can't stop thinking about the old kit decals and what they might be like. Yours looks great.
  9. Always liked the look of this car. Great job.
  10. Nice collection of builds.
  11. Thanks. The 57 was painted with Scale Finishes Duck Pearl
  12. Great paint job. I see it looks like you used the kit supplied wood decal for the bed. How did it lay down for you? I just painted and dry brushed wood grain on mine, figured the decal would give some trouble.
  13. Looks great. That is a great kit
  14. Here is a shot of a built Revell kit (mt fathers) with the resin body. I aligned the rear wheel openings to have the rear axle in place and look closely at the front wheel alignment.
  15. Chassis is pushed back to where it belongs in body. As you can see, there is a gap at the firewall and the front apron pan is forward to far. There are notches in the upper front corners of the inner fenders that lock against the core support that is molded in the body. The notches are to far forward.. It's not much but it is mind boggling.
  16. It looks like the body is about 1/16" to 1/8" short. Says to use the Revell Oldsmobile for donor. If you turn the body over, you can see where the Olds body was cut and assuming the Fleetline rear body was used. I don't know but a little disappointing either way. Just need to study everything to see which way to attack it.
  17. Has anyone purchased and built Jimmy Flintstones 1950 Oldsmobile Club Coupe body (fastback)? I just ordered and recieved mine and while cleaning it up, I discovered the chassis pan and frame from the Revell 1950 Olds Coupe is to long. When I compared the 2 bodies, it appears the resin club coupe body is short in the doors. Has anyone else run into this. I really wanted to build the fast back but this has me perplexed as what to do. Tried to get some pictures to show. It appears that they used the Revell body and just modified the fastback but why would the body come up short in length?
  18. WOW! That looks amazing
  19. Did you ever finish this? My son and I just picked one up for him and I went looking for some reference of the kit prior to starting it. I've had one in my stash for a long time now but never did anything with it since it didn't really build up into an accurate replica. My son is excited though to have his son I will build his out of the box and keep mental notes for when I get around to mine.
  20. Much improved over what you started with. Great job taking the previous builders "mess" and turning into this.
  21. Great movie, great cars, and great looking models. I especially love the Charger. Both look amazing.
  22. Wow!!! Love it. Great looking build of a very nice looking car.
