  1. Unfortunately, it looks like you missed the renewal window for 215. You have 6 issues remaining starting with 216.
  2. You can order them at https://www.modelcarsmag.com/back-issues-2/
  3. @Art LaskiThe pictures aren't coming up for me.
  4. Problem is resolved, but sometimes browsers cache the certificates, and the problem persists longer than it actually should. <sigh>
  5. Foreign deliveries have been extremely slow. I don't know why this is the case, but magazines are taking months to get to northern Europe. This is one of the reasons we recommend digital subscriptions to subscribers outside the US.
  6. While the policy is very formulaic, we do take the timespan into consideration when we're deciding how to respond. We don't want them to expire, because we don't see the full picture. But rest assured, we do take the time into consideration.
  7. I watched this video. I wish he'd gone into more detail about the deficiencies, but the ones he did cover were appalling. I'm a software engineer, but even I know better than that.
  8. What browser and OS are you using?
  9. From a long lost post on the Usenet British Car Mailing List -- "It was the kind of day where we couldn't get the cap off the tube of antiseize."
  10. We've gotten a very heartening response to this survey. We're still collecting answers, but I want to thank everyone who has, or is going to complete the survey. Your answers and ideas have been very helpful. -- Dave Ambrose
  11. I'm surprised he didn't start a grass fire. Pretty low Isp for all those matches.
  12. I have that problem too. Happy birthday!
  13. No need. Check out the Klingon language. It's full of wonderful insults too.
  14. That's because I'm not your spouse. ?
  15. At Model Cars Magazine, we're trying to get a better idea of what model car builders need and want. To help all of us build a better forum, we've put together an online poll. It's pretty short and should only take a couple of minutes to complete. Your responses are anonymous and we don't collect any identifying information. We appreciate you visiting our questionnaire and letting us know what you think. Click this link to take the survey. Thanks, MCM
  16. There are lots of ways to enjoy this hobby. E.g. I'm not big into lowriders, but I appreciate and respect the craftsmanship that goes into them.
  17. I think that buying kits is a distinct hobby from building them. Most of us are much better at one than the other. After a stint in the buying hobby, I realized there were two separate categories of kits, want to builds, and like to builds. Like to build kits are nice, but not something whose completion will make me extraordinarily happy. That made the buy/skip decision a lot easier. I also realized that kits are going to be available for a long time to come, as some of these mega-collections hit the market. So, if I change my mind later, it's not likely going to be a big deal. That slowed my buying a lot. And, truth be told, I'm much happier for it. Right now, I can concentrate on building and be satisfied. A little further down this road I added FOMO (fear of missing out) buys. I try to stick to the want to builds, tho occasionally, I'll make a FOMO buy. My biggest FOMO buy is a Scott Brodeen Nautilus kit. This is also very high in my want to build list, and yes, I'm very glad I got it. My wife and I talked that over for several days before getting it.
  18. I'm sure a year from now, some of the information will be obsolete. We can publish an update, but our publishing cycle is short enough that the information in this issue is quite fresh and up to date.
  19. Somebody will want to burn me at the stake for this, but I would include the Monogram Slingster. It was a fun kit to build, and there must be a zillion different ways to build it. At the end of the day, it looked good too.
  20. We were having some problems right about them. They should be resolved. Are the symptoms continuing?
  21. One good thing about being, ahem, older, is that it's hard to pick the best concerts. So here is my list: Jimi Hendrix, Charlie Musselwhite, and Iron Butterfly at the Santa Clara County fairgrounds Grateful Dead at Winterland Leonard Bernstein conducting the NY Philharmonic Julian Bream at the Masonic Hall in SF Weather Report at the Berkeley Jazz Festival Al DiMeola at BJF Joni Mitchel with Herbie Hancock at BJF Tragically Hip at the Belly Up Sharon van Etten at the Belly Up Dick Dale at the Belly Up There's one more, but there's a long story attached to that one. And yes, I have eclectic tastes in music.
  22. Unfortunately, your subscription expired with issue 213.
  23. Model Cars Magazine #215 should be hitting your mailboxes any day now. We jumped into the 3D printing deep end with stories that will inform modelers of all levels. If 3D isn’t quite your thing, don’t worry, there are still plenty of inspirational stories which include 8 pages of NNL West coverage.
  24. Happy birthday, Snake. The oldest active member I can find was born in 1936, and there are a handful of members with birthdays in '39 to '43. After that, it starts to get pretty populated. I think they call it a baby boom. ?
