More styling mods. The rear fenders always looked unfinished to me, too flat. In an attempt to tie the rear fenders in with the rest of the car I have added a styling lip. I used .015x.080 for tha base of the lip, then laid .020 hex over that, I tried round .020 but it looked to baulkie. Pictures pretty muchh speak for themselves. The last pic was taken after a few coats of primer filler, which was laid down after a minor scraping of the lip to give it a bit of an angle. As the filler dries it will naturally set in a radius shape. No idea how many coats this will take but I have all day. Thanks for looking in. All comment welcome good or bad.
  2. Both stunning examples or two great cars. Very nice work.
  3. Very cool, love the paint job. It gives me an idea for a technique I have been trying to replicate.
  4. It really does look the part of being neglected and sitting for those 20yrs.
  5. That is incredibly wild Dann. How much of that is paint, or is it all paint? Looks like most of it is painted.
  6. Very enjoyable and inspiring to watch, fantastic work as usual. I admire all the engineering and thought you clearly have put into this. You have the engineering part of my mind reeling on how the master brake cylinder is going to be actuated. I am very intrigued after studying your photos and noticing that little port in the frame in relation to where the foot pedal will be once the body is on the frame. I can only imagine what you have come up with. Great stuff John.
  7. Whoa! This turned out great, it looks factory. Great work on the wheels, I dig that you actually did the tiny chrome accents. Motolow pen?
  8. Nice looking project, you're off to a good start, good luck with the build.
  9. It's probably the same stuff but WAY cheaper. $3 for that bottle. It also comes in an 8oz bottle. I swear by it. I use it for a ton of stuff, not just building models. It cleans up with water but once cured water does nothing to it.
  10. CA does wonders for sure. I use this stuff when placement is crucial as well as not having any adhesive visible or hard to hide once complete. It dries crystal clear and holds well, it is a bit flexible so there is none of the 'ting' factor like CA has if a part is nicked or touched.

Too many times for many of us. I keep having ideas to accentuate the body lines with little styling ques from the TV car. Then the reality sets in on how long those mods would take. I still have a couple other things I will do.
  12. Brilliant work. Those fans must have taken a ton of work, very nice touch.
  13. Great start. Always liked that shade of blue. Interested in seeing where you take this.

  18. It really isn't much different other then having to make sure your edges are cleared to seal them from any bleeding or blow through. Of course the added time for the painting. Looking forward to seeing the results.
  19. This is looking fantastic. John, if your hands are good enough to cut the BMF they are good enough the cut masking tape. Why not mask off the trim clear the edges then use your pen to do the chrome. That's how I have done it and it works great.
  20. Those grill pieces sure look the part, nicely done.
  21. This is a great trick. Outstanding work, thanks for sharing and for the explanations. That Renshape stuff looks to be very a versatile product to have in you tool kit. I am extremely interested in seeing how you pull off the engine turned finish.
  22. Killer work, great job all round. Love that paint.
  23. Nice paint.
