  1. Have you tried shaking the bottle? If not, try that first. If so, then, yes, it will thin with water.
  2. The Detroit Area Auto Modelers presents the Motor City Madness judged contest and toy show on March 31st, 2019 at the Macomb County College Sports & Expo Center in Warren, Michigan. The toy show tables are sold out already. We cut the number of tables down by 6 so as to make access to the model contest a little bit better ( there will still be over 315 tables of goodies). Admission to the event is still $5.00 and there's NO extra charge to enter models into the contest. We're the biggest show in the Midwest- come and see why it's been impressing attendees and participants.
  3. I bought mine on February 19th at Hobby Lobby. They're out there.
  4. It's heaven sent for vent window frames and other small mouldings, not so much for large areas like bumpers. It's better over dark colors, not so hot over silver or other light colors.
  5. After sun bleaching the decal sheet you can overcoat it with a lacquer clearcoat. Testor One Coat (non one coat) is a good one to use, old formula Tamiya TS-13 is not.
  6. AMT restored the '65 GTO and '69 Torino from their Mod Stocker versions( with varying success) so the Skylark and the Delta 88 COULD be done with a big effort on AMT's part.
  7. Testor Wet Look clear or what used to be called "One Coat" are good choices. I'm told that since it was reformulated, Tamiya TS-13 is safer to use over decals than it was in it's older formula ( no personal experience with it yet).
  8. Still no sign of the '29 roadster or the '30 coupe. Hmmmmmm.
  9. I've had a mini buying binge lately. Over the last week I bought an AMT '50 Ford, '65 Grand Prix, and '40 Ford sedan. Then I bought the Tamiya Ford GT, a Hasegawa Zakspeed( "lacks speed) 891,and a Hasegawa Mazda 767B. I'm done for a while ( maybe). Tony( member of Styrene Junkies Anonymous)
  10. If Revell IS doing a '69 Chevelle I wonder why they didn't take a lesson from the '68/ '69 Charger and leave off the marker lights on the Chevelle. One less thing requiring a new tool-unless they're going to make only one run of the '68 and forever alter the tooling (ala the '68/ '69 Dart). Hmmmm.
  11. Testor makes a Grabber Orange. Or you can use Tamiya TS-56.
  12. I wonder if the front cover from a Ford 4 cam Indy engine might be adaptable for this project?
  13. I, too, haven't had good luck with a Tamiya primer/ Duplicolor paint combination. I suspect some sort of chemical incompatibility.
  14. Hi, I'm Tony and I'm a styrene junkie. The 1500 or so kits in my basement are silent evidence to that.
  15. I wonder if the exhaust blows back into the cockpit or over it?
  16. I guess if there's a teacher you don't like...………………...
  17. I had a similar idea several years ago-959 Clubsport. One of the few Porsche variations never made, even by Porsche.
  18. Try the AMT '61 Ford "boxtop" Styline kit. it will probably need to be modified for size but the shape looks close to what you want.
  19. The two photos show just how much off the roof/windshield is in the model versus the real car. Wow.
  20. The name of the movie now escapes me but there is a British movie made in the 50s about the London to Brighton vintage car run.
  21. I'm 64 now and I'll really never be able to afford to retire so I'll need every dollar I can get. I'll start drawing S/S at age 70 when I hit maximum benefit and keep on working. My kits are my life insurance policy. I'll have to live to be 700 to finish them all. So far, so good.
  22. A local used car place that also was a salvage yard used to bring their butted together " projects" to the Buick dealer where I worked a few years ago to make them operational. One time they brought in a Cadillac that had been made of two wrecks. I don't recall if they had been two different years or different drive trains but after several days of trying to get things functional the service manager not so politely told the yard to take their P.O.S. out of our shop and not ever come back.
  23. Chevy Wimpala Chevy Malibubu Pontiac Gooole Plymouth Furry Plymouth Dustpan
  24. Ar our D.A.A.M show yesterday I bought a Lambo Murcielago R-SV, a Sauber C9, two MPC Dodge vans, a Tamiya FW-24 ( after not seeing any for years of looking for them I've gotten 2 in 7 months!), and an AMT slot car. I also sold $340 worth of kits and one $60 1/18 scale diorama.
  25. In my stash there's an AMT '69 Mustang that was in a series called ( I think) Wild Wheels( the same series that had the '40 Ford sedan delivery with the altered headlights). Cheesy looking wheels and 2 engines, neither of which looks any good. I must have gotten it cheap.
