All very good points Rob. With the limited amount of aftermarket may be why we don't see them built up more often. The size may be what keeps people from taking them to shows. I think I have only seen maybe 20 large scale models at shows in the last 15 years.
They are not cheap at shows now or ebay. I am sure on a good day you can get a deal but mostly not. I think the biggest problem when new was timing and only one build option. Some rework of this kit and today It would sell better.
I would be more impressed if they could fix a pothole up here in Michigan than if the could allegedly put a car in space that has no use. Better yet go to a Planet that can't support human life, there is another good use of research and money.
Not sure this is the correct color if this to represent a new car. From what I have found 58 is the first year for the Blue cars. They were all Black with a gold strip before that.
The Blizzard of 78 was very hard here. We got rain followed by snow and High Winds. The two big storm meet here. It was a mess. Dads fairly new barn was 14 foot at the top ( a flat roof Butler)and the drift went up to almost the top. Made a great place to tunnel. I was only 12 so I got to play after the power came back on. After the Phone came back on we found out we got a new cousin in the middle of all of it. I still tell her she has always been trouble.
