  1. It does seem like a waste, but if something happened 3/4 of the way through an order it is cheaper to regrind parts than to stop the press and start it over. A very time consuming operation. Not only that press time is scheduled in at plants and the next opening may not be in several months after you wait for the shop to fix the problem in the mold.
  2. Rob it is all about seat time. When I was in high school they told us it was a waste of time for us to get computers in school. They figured it would be money well spent to start teaching the younger kids and bring them up with it in school. PS I have 4 years on you. My old neighbor took a CAD class because he wanted to at 75 a lifelong fidler and a pretty smart guy. As far as What I would like to see a good early Falcon kit.
  3. That is interesting Art. Next door neighbor when I was a kid told me about how gas powered air compressors they had at Teledyne were like this. After a while as an adult I was thinking he was pulling my leg. They do exist. He was never in service so he had to see them there. They did build Jet Engine parts for the Government there.
  4. Nice work on your T. Let's see beat them by 17 hours and changed an engine on the way.
  5. Didn't they use them for portable air compressors and generators over their also? Maybe just urban legend about that. With better modern casting techniques I bet they are a better product.
  6. You need to go the pulls live and go in the pits. Are you talking about the Steam tractor? You just can't stop steam in the unlimited class. My friend had a few steam tractors at this house they are cool.
  7. Thank you for the info Bill.
  8. I am glad to see you are not letting this spoil your plastic adventures anymore. Some of us just have to vent and get it out. The trade that burnt me was a guy from Canada trading a Comet. I will not let him spoil my opinion of other Canadians he is just a #@%!human as an old friend would tell me.
  9. I just figure if someone types pm sent I do not have to see if I have the part unless the OP responds still need this.
  10. I wonder if it would bubble up with the ultrasonic cleaner. If it does not, it should help being warmed up. DO NOT FORGET YOUR GLOVES while handling this stuff. I try not to strip paint while container is sitting in basement. I will bring it up by a vent to get it warmer than cold as the basement. That stuff works great in July and August when it is hot as I do not have Air.
  11. Looking even better.
  12. I like this. Looks nice.
  13. Russ it is better than the blank spot we had before. At least until I figured out how to downsize a pic.
  14. They try to keep the topics as they are to keep it simple. You will get used to it in time. Less work for the Moderator to do, So they can have fun also.
  15. Hopefully you have a small piece of red sprue to try some of the above. My brother looked at an early Comet here in Toledo, the seller showed him the Original title and it said Edsel on it not Mercury.
  16. Ikea does have some smaller cabinets Rob. do not recall the number as of now I can look later. You could also check the local big box store for scratch and dent cabinets or tool boxes. Menards has a few different size counter tops that are already to size. But and old solid door or planks also work.
  17. Looks great and is working fine. I also got the black banner until I logged in. Happy Camper here.
  18. How did I miss this. Looks great. Not a fan of the custom work myself but for some reason I like this hard to find kit.
