  1. Interesting that they list the wagon as a Craftsman model, which was a designation used on curbsides in the 60s. IIRC, the stock wagon kit had an engine ( mine is in storage). Regarding the above question about the Falcon, it’s a tube frame altered wheelbase drag car, last seen in several Model King reissues in the 00s.
  2. Cool...never built either of those, esp. like the JPS livery on the Europa...
  3. ERTL released 4 ESCI tools under the AMT brand in 1988--Porsche 928, Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari 250 SWB, and Ferrari 512BB. There were ESCI/ERTL branded kits a few years before that, I believe. (I don't recall ever seeing ESCI/ERTL branded kits in the US—early 80s, maybe?) Kind of odd for an ESCI VW Golf to reappear like this, would have thought they would have reissued the AMT tool Rabbit...
  4. Lots of movies where stuff like this happens... there was a chase in the movie 'Arlington Road' where Jeff Bridges was driving a Ford Contour, that seems to change from an early model ('95-97) to a later model ('98+) and back during the sequence. Another one that was just way off as far as the year--the film 'The Debt' had a scene set at a W. German air force runway in 1966--there was a '66 Impala, and next to it..an early 80s Olds 88.
  5. I watched that movie a couple weeks ago and noticed that scene... heh heh...transforming Plymouth police car..
  6. Could be a one-off..who knows, things done by dealers and aftermarket tuners seem like they were more variable in olden days..
  7. The Yenko package also seemed to include a rear spoiler.
  8. A Baldwin-Motion 427 version would be a neat variation....Revell has done B-M kits in the past.
  9. I can't seem to delete my duplicate post. The forums don't seem to allow deleting posts..the formatting ended up weird when I quoted your post the first time.
  10. The 68/69 GTO was developed by Monogram around 40 years ago. Different management and development processes than what the Revell of today has...so really, no correlation.
  11. No correlation. Different company almost 40 years ago.
  12. It would have to be a new body, since the ‘68 kit body has vent windows, ‘68 style side markers and a ‘68 style lower body trim.
  13. Tower Hobbies lists it for mid-July
  14. I'd assume the body is also new to account for model year differences, and new taillights, and interior parts like seats and door panels.
  15. My older brother had a silver/black Mustang II Mach 1 back in the day, and built the MPC '76 to match it.. I think it was the last model he ever built (got it somewhere in my stash).
  16. Other neighborhood memories..the folks next door had a sharp black '73 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and a gold w/ black top '72 Olds 98 4dr ht, the house on the other side had a blue '73 Buick Century 4dr. Across the street there was a worn black '67 Olds Delmont 88 2dr and a new gold '77 Olds Delta 88 4dr. My folks in '77 had a '76 Lincoln Continental 4dr and a '77 Thunderbird in our narrow 1-car garage driveway (my Dad kept the older cars out at our weekend house/farm--'67 and '68 Cougars, '69 Mustang). My sister's '76 Pinto sat at the curb, along w/ my older brother's constantly changing cars ('74 Vega GT, '75 Mustang II Mach 1, '59 Thunderbird, '74 Firebird Formula 400, '65 GTO, '65 Mustang coupe all within a 2-3 year period...)
  17. I can still remember my childhood neighborhood in the mid 70s. Down the street, there was a neighbor with a black ‘68 Impala Custom Coupe and a gold ‘69 Impala Custom Coupe. I remember at an early age noticing the model year differences and how long the rear deck was on the ‘68. I recall when they got a new ‘77 Caprice 2dr.
  18. The '65 and '68 fronts are very similar..both have a header panel above the grille (the '67 hood went all the way to the grille), the headlights notch up into that panel, the bumper has the lower grille below an upper bar... I like the styling of all of those years. GM had a lot of good looking cars in the mid to late 60s...
  19. I like the '67 rear more than the '68...though I really like the optional hidden headlight front on the '68. Likewise, I like the '69 more than the '70, esp. the rear. Though of vintage Impalas, my favorites are probably the '71-73.
  20. I'm planning to use the '67 Rallys from the 2dr kit on AMT redline tires for one (may do it as a phantom SS w/ the bucket seats, SS 427 hood, grille, etc). For the 2nd one, I plan to do as a regular 4dr w/ the 5 spoke wheel covers (like in the Lindberg '66 Chevelle kit) and AMT redline tires. the 3rd one will provide parts, interior, etc for a resin kit.
  21. It reminds me a bit of the 1979 Jeep Jeepster II concept...
  22. I recall an article about a white one in Muscle Car Review magazine back in the 80s. Only a few were built. I think there was a red one also.
  23. Got mine today, they look good at first glance. No flash.
  24. Got my two Supernatural '67 Impalas from Model Roundup today, they look great at first glance..no noticeable flash on the bodies.
