Sharp, I like the modifications. I have built a few of the other Prestige Series kits and found them to be warped and with a lot of flash.

History of Monogram's Squarebody GM Pickups
Rob Hall replied to Fabrux's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Interesting, it looks like they got the labels in the catalog reversed on the Ford and GMC High Rollers. -
84 GMC 2wd
Rob Hall replied to Rbray47's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks sharp..I have something like that in mind w/ a couple of mine, thinking of using the AMT Chevy van 2wd suspension. -
Yes, I have it and the Wrangler kits. It's very nice.

What is the "best" 1962 Pontiac 1/25 kit?
Rob Hall replied to Bill Anderson's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I think the most recent one was the Polyglas Gasser II version. Previous to that was the Arnie Bestwick drag version (which also has the custom parts). -
Cool...I remember back in '00 a few months after getting my blue Grand Cherokee going to the UK and seeing several GCs in the same color, except they are RHD diesels. I've seen a few of the 300 wagons in France. Saw the occasional Tahoe and Suburban in Italy and France also.

Ah, yeah..I recall seeing a lot of Jeeps and Chrysler minivans in the UK, Italy, France on my vacations... also saw a few Sebring convertibles, Neons and Saratoga sedans (Le Barons) 20 years ago...
-
Modern Jeeps have international appeal, I'd love to see Tamiya do a current Grand Cherokee (maybe a Trailhawk or Trackhawk), or a Wrangler or Gladiator...like how they did 25 years ago... and the current Mustang is the top selling sports coupe globally, a street GT or GT350 would be great to see.

Looks like the optional custom part that comes w/ that kit.

There are two more variations of the '60s Ford truck tooling coming, I believe...a ''65 or '66 longbed 4x4 pickup and a '67 w/ the service bed.

Jeep "Easter Eggs"?
Rob Hall replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've looked over my '14 Grand Cherokee Limited pretty closely, but haven't found any of the usual Easter Eggs...seem to be mostly on the Wranglers. -
I remember him from the Christopher Guest comedies--'Best of Show', 'For Your Consideration', 'Waiting for Guffman', funny guy...he even had a small role in Spinal Tap IIRC.

Well, the kit represents the SEMA show car from 2016... same livery. The 30 or so cars Multimatic built debuted in the 2017 season. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/ford-mustang-gt4-racer-unveiled-sema-2016/ Here are pics of one in the Motorcraft livery from 2019. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a30268416/ford-mustang-gt4-ford-gt-gtlm-vir-drive/

Or the new 'no bueno' (not good)....not sure how widely used this is, but I picked it up from a coworker in AZ maybe 5-8 years ago...
-
Yeah, it's fun sometimes to look at the tracking history on shipments...one of the better ones I thought was a package going from Atlanta to here outside Cleveland that went through So Cal...

Yes, 5.2.. ( I think because the Shelby GT350 in 07-12 had a 5.4, that number sticks in my head...) It will be interesting to see if someone in the aftermarket (USCP maybe?) does an engine compartment and full engine for this kit..
-
I was researching this a while back, found a few photos..my understanding is the GT4 engine is based on the Voodoo 5.4 5.2 from the street GT350. Since this car has been racing for 3-4 seasons now, there are pictures out there...

The grille should be correct, the issue I have from the 00s has the correct grille.

Built a few of the MPC '87-88 kits back in the day (incl one to match my 1:1 '87 GT). The main things I didn't like about it are the chrome headlights, molded in taillights and automatic transmission... and the front end slope looks to me a bit steeper than the 1:1. It's good to see this one back out, though.

1/25 AMT 1970.5 Camaro Z28 - Full Bumper
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I didn't say that. That's an RS bumper on a standard front end. The RS bumper is two pieces. I've seen a bunch like this over the years, it's a common modification to the standard front end. -
The main irritant I've had w/ FedEx is when they hand off an international package to my local USPS for delivery. My local USPS has issues w/ delivery of international packages for some reason...they sometimes keep them at the PO and don't deliver it or leave a card..I had to the PO and argue w/ them to get my package on multiple occasions. (this was during normal times). I did get a HLJ package directly from FedEx delivery this week w/ no problems. And w/ social distancing they aren't requiring a signature anymore. I've been getting wine and alcohol deliveries from FedEx lately w/ no signatures...
