Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
Rob Hall replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, Im used to all the modern conveniences..my '14 Jeep Grand Cherokee and '19 Cadillac CT6 have all the modern goodies--the Cadillac has heated/cooled/massage seats.. I drive it the most. My restored '87 Mustang GT has nice cold AC and an aftermarket CD player...my other oldies, my Dad's '69 Mustang never had AC, ...and has a black vinyl interior an AM radio, and the '67 Cougar is even more basic..no power steering, drum brakes, 3spd manual.... when I get them eventually back on the road they would be dry day w/ cool weather (spring/fall) cars. Got my ‘87 Mustang out today to take a spin since it's my birthday. Still has a few things to get sorted, but that’s the nature of project cars. 65k miles. I still enjoy driving it today as I did when I was 20 in 1990...I drove this car all over in the 1990s--Ohio, Cape Cod, Chicago, around the thumb of Michigan (had it in Ann Arbor '94-97), the top of Pikes Peak (had it in Colorado '97-02), Cheyenne, Wyoming, Taos and Santa Fe, New Mexico, etc. I've put about 150 miles on it since getting back from the restoration shop last November. My Cadillac CT6 has 56k miles, got it in March as a very clean CPO. -
Moebius 1965 Nova SS & 1965 Nova Restomod Announcements
Rob Hall replied to Erik Solie's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A convertible would have to be a '62-63, wasn't available in '64-65. A 4dr would make sense for the aftermarket. I could see Möebius doing a stock '65 2dr sedan since they already have the body from the gasser version. -

1960 Ford F-100 Pickup
Rob Hall replied to ModelcarJR's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
hopefully the aftermarket will do ‘58 and ‘59 grilles. I like those more than the ‘60 grille design. -

Check VCG Resins...I;ve bought a couple 240 6 cyl couple engines for this truck kit. They have stock and modified versions available. https://www.vcgresins.com/shop/p/ford240300i6stockenginekit Edit: apparently the 240 is for 1964 and newer vehicles, not sure how different it is visually from what was in the earlier trucks..it is a Ford straight 6, I figure it is close enough. -
Moebuis 1965 nova Resto mod and stock nova ss
Rob Hall replied to 66c10's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd assume the '65 Resto Mod kit has the same content as the '64 Resto Mod kit had except for the year-specific parts (grille, taillights, etc). -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

I often take my iPad to the bathroom and read Car & Driver, Motor Trend, or Top Gear on it... -

I have one on Pre Order at Hobby Link Japan..they have it listed as an August release, but as with anything, that may vary... -
I went to a couple of great concerts Friday and Saturday nights...saw Robert Plant & Alison Krauss in Toledo and The Rolling Stones last night in Cleveland. Lots of fun...I had last seen the Stones in 2005, and this may be the last time I see them. Exhausted today, but a good day to rest.

Model Roundup has it for preorder as a July release.

I remember the first time I became aware of Canadian-specific cars was in the 80s as a teenager in the Florida Keys...snowbirds w/ Ontario plates..a neighbor had a '78 Chevy Bel Air 4dr, there was a 74 Meteor Rideau 500 2dr around town, a late 77 Pontiac Laurentian 2dr, and a Pontiac Tempest (Chevy Corsica).

Bronco II Kit - does such a thing exist?
Rob Hall replied to Jonathan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A kit would be neat..I have small Matchbox and Majorette dieceast ones. My first SUV was an '88 Bronco II XLT 4x4 in gold and brown two-tone. V6, 5spd manual...neat little truck, drove it from '94-00 before I switched to Jeep Grand Cherokees. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Went to the beach today, and at a roadside hot dog/burger joint saw a sharp dark red '54-55 Corvette (don't think it was '53--those were all white?). Whitewall tires w/ matching red steelies, no wheel covers. Looked very clean..should have taken a pic. -
Got a couple of the new ‘64 Malibus in the mail today, along with a ‘65 Mustang promo in decent shape.

A '61 Fury would have been better than a '57...more evil/deranged looking, IMO.

As an adult, I've lived in Ohio, Michigan, Colorado and Arizona. Arizona was a one plate state, bought my current Jeep there in 2017, it didn't have a front bracket..moved to Ohio right after I bought it, had to get a front bracket installed. Then a few years ago, Ohio switched to being a one-plate state..so I took off the front plate and put a Jeep logo plate on it, my 2019 Cadillac I recently bought has a front bracket, put a Cadillac logo plate on it, and on my '87 Mustang GT put a vintage Ford Motorsport plate on the front.
