I like the AMT Firestone whitewall tires sets....each has 1 set of 4 narrow and 4 wide whitewalls...good for late '50s and early '60s cars. The online vendors have them for about $13/set, which is not bad for two sets of tires, less than two sets of resin whitewalls. They have 2 more drag slick sets coming, maybe they will do a set of the Polyglas GT tires eventually.

Interesting...that would be nice to be able to get those tires in sets.....another option IIRC is that Scale Equipment Ltd makes them in black resin w/ raised white letters.

I didn't think the '69 H/O was out yet...due in November.

A spare tailight from a junkyard, some duct tape and bondo, and rattle cans of primer and paint and it will be good as new...

The Revell chrome engine parts packs were reissued sometime in the last 15 years or so and were quite a dud on the market, IIRC.

Who knows, maybe a future trend. Who knows, maybe we will see people building hybrid and electric '32 Ford rods somewhere down the road...swap in Prius or Leaf drivetrains. That would be different... This year is the 80th anniversary of the '32 Ford, I wonder if anyone is still going to be building '32 Ford hot rods in another 20 years? I would think interest of them would die out eventually...

Supply and demand...there are more people that are interested in them than kits that are available, so the prices get bid way up...

The BHC version is a new release...I assume it will just be the same old, same old AMT '72 Nova SS with new box art. I really doubt if Round 2 has tooled up parts to represent a worn out base version like was in the movie.

Speaking of Italian cars and gluttons for punishment, there is a guy around my 'hood that has a '70s Lancia Beta coupe and a '90s Alfa Romeo Milano sedan, both pretty worn out w/ faded paint....brave or maybe he's good at fixing Italian cars. Not sure what the 'worst' vehicle is that I've ever owned, pretty much everything I've had has been pretty reliable and decent enough to drive. Only had 7 cars in 26 years..the '84 Ford Escort diesel and '86 Mustang LX 2.3 were pretty slow, the Bronco II a rust magnet and squirrely in cross winds. The '87 Mustang GT and '96 BMW M3 were a lot of fun, pretty reliable. My '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been reliable, though it's had a few expensive repairs as it's aged. The '11 Caddy STS has been great so far. I drove my sister's '84 Merc 500SEL for a while, it's quite a money pit for repairs but it has a lot of miles.

I bet they will sell more w/ the Christine tie-in than they would a regular Belvedere...

Well, sci-fi items are probably much more profitable..they can sell at a considerably higher price point that model cars do (remember, model car builders have a reputation for being...um..cheap).

Revell did a lot of that years ago..probably got tired of people complaining about the lights being clear.

I thought the '71-72 tooling at one time existed independently of the '73-74...it was reissued last in the late 80s molded in yellow, after the '74 'GTX' MPC release.

Both of those are on my to-buy list, along w/ the '72 LTD Brougham 2dr and '70 Country Squire wagon. I wish they would do some Mercurys also--a '69/70 Marauder and '69/70 Monterey or Marquis conv. would be great.

Neat custom...speaking of custom Mopies, I've always wanted to build an MPC '72 Road Runner w/ the custom parts. My '72 is build stock and was missing the custom parts when I bought it.

Needs a snorkel.. Those old XJ Cherokees are great..a bunch of friends of mine in Colorado had them back in the day.

The 5.0 badge does look a bit large. A couple things I've noticed, the black windshield and rear window frosting seems oversized, and the decklid edge looks too flat in the center..the 1:1 peaks slightly in the center, and has a slight lip. Hard to see if that is present in these pics.

I'm sure the Twin I-Beam will be adequate for 1:25th scale though...

Some of these issues shouldn't have been there if Revell had done better quality control on their product.

Or instead of a hobby knife or sanding maybe use some sort of chisel or narrow blade to remove it.

Yes, I know of the resin ones but that's more than I'm interested in paying..would be nice if RoG would do one (does Italeri even do any new tooling anymore?)

Yeah, I finally got one of those this past summer along w/ the 275 GTB and 275 spyder kits...now if only there was a 1:24th scale kit of the Lusso...

I enjoy Ferrari builds, my goal being to avoid bright red as much as possible and do them in the non-obvious colors.
