  1. You had me with your well done restoration of the first coupe, but then knocked me over with the second and all the scratchbuilding it reqiuires. Wowza ? and thank you for doing a color other than red on the first one. It's rare to see these, but nearly every one is left red plastic.
  2. Just found out we're getting an Ollies in Moline Illinois, opening next week. I'll finally get to partake in these deep discounts you guys have been getting because prior to this the closest was in the Chicago suburbs, three hours away. Hoping I'll be lucky enough to find one of those Rat Fink semis and trailers when they open, but doubt it.
  3. Congratulations. Hope it doesn't take too long to get it. The waiting was the hardest part, and we didn't have to wait as long as many others have.
  4. Nothing since June 1st? I'm in a very prolonged slump right now, but it's was nice seeing all these vintage hot rods being built. lets get back to it fellas!
  5. Mastered by our own Dennis Lacy, Drag City is one of the companies that set the bar for quality in resin casting right now.
  6. Is this the one you're thinking of? if so, this is the highly inaccurate one mentioned several times above.
  7. The deposit may depend on the dealership. We did not have to leave a deposit, and you do not have to take delivery if you decide you don't want it. The Broncos are so desirable at the moment that the dealership is usually happy to add it to their inventory. The dealership we bought ours from has had several people that ordered them decide they didn't want one because they either found one sooner or got tired of waiting and bought something else. But like Dan said, the supply should start meeting the demand soon. One fellow owner I talked to is going to trade his less than 12 month old Big Bend four door because he just ordered a Raptor Bronco. Lucky dog. Hope he lets me drive it when he gets it ?
  8. AMT made 2 different 57 TBirds. One the Trophy Series kit that has been repopped constantly over the last 60 years, and the Jr Craftsman kit, which I believe was snap (or screw) together. The Trophy kit was full detail, whereas the Jr Craftsman was like an unassembled promo and the hood molded closed.
  9. The original issue of the woody and sedan had both build options in the box. Ever since then they have been issued seperately. Original issue box
  10. From Stevens International I'm especially excited for the return of the 32 Sedan. That was only released once, 15 years ago, in a limited run. Curious to hear the full details on all of these.
  11. I have soaked Shapeways printed parts on Super Clean before to ensure they are clean with no issues except it turns the "clear" resin slightly purple( I think they are called frosted?) Painted the parts after with no issue. But like Ace says, test it for yourself first, possibly with a piece of the reinforcing tree they come attached too? I know that Shapeways has come out with newer print materials, but I have no experience with those...yet.
  12. Cool idea. Nice work on the kitbashing.
  13. Albert Wallace, frequent contributor over on the Spotlight board used to deliberately take pictures of his reflection in various hubcaps and bumpers in his frequent show coverage.
  14. Very well thought out hot rod. I especially love the clean execution of the fuel lines.
  15. No need to backdate it, just find the original stock version or the 2n1 RC2 did about 15 years ago. The 2n1 was poorly marketed since it simply recycled the 90's street rod box art with no indication that the stock parts were in the box other than a little 2n1 logo on the box top. Most people passed that issue by when it was released, assuming it was the street rod only kit. The stock version actually includes some nice hop up parts for the flathead too. As far as throwing the 34 coupe body/fenders on the AMT 34 pickup frame, you'd be setting yourself up for a lot of work. The 34 pickup frame shares characteristics with the 32 passenger car frames and the profile is quite different to the 33/34 passenger car frame. I think the wheelbase is probably different as well.
  16. If you order one through the dealer you get the price on the sticker, no markup. Dan, thanks for chiming in with your direct experience since you work at a dealership. Sounds like if someone REALLY has to have a Bronco right away they should head North of the border, lol. As of 6 months ago when we got serious about buying one dealerships around here (150 mile radius) had no stock, and ones that showed up on the lot are spoken for or marked up ridiculously. I still don't see much stock when i drive by dealerships now, but it sounds like the dam may be breaking. I sure am seeing more and more on the road.
  17. Do they sell models by other manufacturers?
  18. We took delivery of out 2 Door Big Bend edition in the Area 51 color with hardtop back in June. We use it. My wife uses it as her daily driver, but we sure have a blast with it on the weekends. We take the front section of the hardtop off all the time, takes less than 30 seconds if we both take a side. We just had the full hardtop off for the first time this weekend. I'll say it again, so much fun. Here's a tip, order one, don't buy off the lot. Because they are still not at full production and demand is high most dealerships are adding at least 5 grand markup. But, if you order one you pay the sticker price. Trick is, they only occasionally open the window for ordering, so you need to know someone at the dealership that will put in your order when the window is open. There are still people that ordered certain options and packages 2 years ago that haven't taken delivery. Our local dealership put our order in for us in March, and they ordered 3-4 others at the same time. Ours came in June, the others still don't have a scheduled build date.
  19. Very inventive and well executed. Nice job
  20. Not sure what the design team at AMT was up to when they threw this one together with the outhouse door and ladder, but you look like you had fun replicating this very rare kit.
  21. That's a sweet little stunner Jesse. I have an affinity for those original Monogram hot rods kits, and I'm loving your box art variations.
  22. Great concept to build vehicles based on The Simpsons. I had something similar planned, even started collecting kits, but never started any of it. Any others planned? Mr Plow pickup? Moe's rust bucket with the giant flowers on it?
  23. Very cool build. Great job kitbashing.
  24. I missed this too. Very realistic weathering. Well done. Source for the rear tires?
  25. Are these red line tires prepainted, and if so are they included in this kit?
