  1. Thanks for the tips so far, didn't think of using the end of the box to help square it off! I am using the saw that came with the miter box, but I think it must have too low of a tooth count and is making the cutting tough. I will look into getting a higher tooth count saw and hopefully that will help!
  2. Are there any tips to cutting styrene tubing straight, short of getting that desktop electric miter saw? I have the (Xacto?) miter box, and I am having a hard time keeping the tubes in place while I cut, leaving an angled edge that I have to try to square up with my Xacto knife.
  3. I’m curious what extra parts, if any, they will offer in this kit. It would be cool if they went the route of offering both manual and auto trans options, with both shifters and pedal assemblies. I feel like it would be only a few extra parts, and yet would allow for more build options out of the box. Plus it could carry through to future kits without having to retool.
  4. Sure they may be going away soon, but they are still selling really well right now and so would make a good model kit to sell.
  5. That actually is the base R/T front fascia. This front fascia is also used on the GT and Scat Pack models. It's awesome to see a major company finally coming out with a new (model year) subject. I would have liked it to be a Hellcat or widebody version, but this is a start for those who don't want that, and they can release the other versions in the future. It will be interesting to see how detailed the kit actually is, and if they do include any optional parts in the kit.
  6. That's the version of the kit I have. Luckily I was able to trade most of the custom parts for the stock parts and the brush guard/rollbar from the earlier version.
  7. True those parts are slightly different as well, but at scale to save some money, they could fudge a few things.
  8. I've said it before, but I am certainly surprised that there has not yet been a full detail kit of the current F-150. It is one of the most popular vehicles in the US, and there are so many versions they could make out of one initial tooling. I have seen a good amount of the snap kit F-150 Raptor kits built already, and so I honestly think a full detail kit would be a big hit, especially since the older crowd would be more likely to have a newer F-150 that they would want to make a model of. As for the Silverado kit, I would like them to re-release the stock kit as well. It also seems like it wouldn't be too much work for them to modify it as a GMC for further sales. At minimum, it would just be the grille/bumper piece, front end lights, wheels, and decals.
  9. They will probably just call it a Firebird like AMT did for their 1/16 kit re-release, if that indeed is the case.
  10. Joseph's BFG A/T is a 31x10.5-15, though at scale I don't think the height difference would be that great. Scenes Unlimited also sells them, and he says they are actually for 16" wheels. However in my opinion, Joseph's tires look much better.
  11. Overpriced, perhaps. Not done very well, disagree. I bought all three kits at their respective releases and while the prices were on the higher end for a 1/24 passenger vehicle kit, I would say overall that the price matched the content quality. I know that Meng had some discrepancies with the actual vehicles they were based on, but nothing that couldn't be easily corrected. I just wish they had continued making kits in this product line, since they were making kits that no one else had made yet.
  12. I personally think the auto kits didn't sell as well as they had hoped, hence why we haven't had a new kit announced since the Jeep Wrangler.
  13. Yeah it’s their 1/16 kit. The monster truck version was the most recent, and I’m not sure if the molds were modified for it. I would like to see more of the 1/16 kits return, and I would really love to see Revell rerelease one of their 1/12 GM kits this year.
  14. Do we know if this is the new tool Mustang that was teased last year?
  15. One thing I found:
  16. I always thought it was strange that Monogram also gave their 1/12 Camaro the chambered exhaust as well, rather than the more common dual muffler exhaust. I'm sure it was the same or similar case, where either their reference car had it, or they decided to just use it and have their kit be a "fully optioned" Z/28.
  17. At least it appears the Bronco wheels are better than the ones in the F350 kit, they actually have visible lug nuts!
  18. I like that catalog picture of the interior showing no shift lever.
  19. I don't think I've seen that at all, I normally see the plain black and white American Satco boxes with their parts added in.
  20. I'm just glad that Fireball still offers his sets of custom 8-lug wheels and tires, since the ones on the customized F250 4x4 display model are pretty ugly.
  21. I would like to get more done on mine, but we moved back in June to a fixer upper house so I have had no time to build models, much less even set up my desk!
  22. According to Wikipedia, in 1972 there were major changes which included moving the fuel tank from under the front seats to behind the rear axle, which meant moving the fuel filler. Dash pad seems to have appeared around the same time, and the roll bar moved to a floor mount around 1980.
  23. The wheels you can easily still buy from US Wheel and probably a couple other brands. As for the bodies themselves, I'm sure there were plenty sitting in junkyards down south that they just patched and threw some paint on, since no one wanted to buy them to rebuild back then. I've noticed in some junkyard videos that they tend to have more of the 4-door, lesser loved vehicles.
  24. I'm liking the basic work truck look, a very clean build! It's unfortunate that Joseph stopped making the F250 conversion to order, however it does appear that Moebius will be coming out with an actual 4x4 F-250 kit in the near future!
  25. Sweet! Love the look and the paint is amazing! You are right that his decals do lay down very nicely. Got any interior or undercarriage pics?
