  2. Tks guys, appreciate the comments. Dave B
  3. I have just rebuilt my LS Chaparral 2C and realised it is the only Chappie I have not shared. Apart from replacing the moulded mesh with a (too) fine gauze it is a box stock build painted with auto acrylic. I now have 2 * 2D's (Monogram & Fujimi), 2F (Fisher), 2H (body copy of Exotic Miniatures) and a 2J (scratchbuilt) along with the 3 Cox slot cars being a 2, 2D and 2E (mag frame). Not too bad for a Ford guy!! Tks for looking. Dave B
  4. Nice build Michael, love Group C cars. Dave B

    AMT '40 Ford

Tks guys, appreciate the comments. Greg, no interior photos, sorry, but yes I did some basic detailing. Michael, except for the intake manifold and carbies I used the kit flathead. Painted the heads with a Molotow chrome pen, they are fantastic. I also substituted the kit glass for some thin clear plastic sheet. Dave B ☺

    AMT '40 Ford

Needed a break from sports/racing cars. Dechromed, radiused wheel arches, filled running boards, wheels from the parts box and re-released AMT tyres. Painted in auto acrylic, clear red over silver. Tks for looking. Dave B
  10. Tks guys. Bruce, that was the first thing I did after reviewing the post!!? Dave B
  11. Hi AFX, no it isn't, it's just a basic transkit I found on eBay around 8 years ago. No glass and basic Sunoco decals. Dave B
  12. Tks guys, appreciate the kind words. Dave B
  13. My take on George Wintersteen's GS roadster chassis 002. Kit from Accurate Miniatures, basic resin transkit body bought of Ebay abut 8 years ago (when Oz dollar had parity), Vintage Racing Miniatures decals (the BEST!!), Model Car Garage photo etch detail set and my own wheels and vacformed glass. Painted with auto acrylic. Was a fun build but in hindsight could do better, should have bought and additional body and built the prototype as well as the transkit includes the head rest. Thanks for looking. Dave B
  14. Very nice build Larry, congratulations. Dave B
  15. Tks guys, appreciate the comments. Dave B
  16. Hi Kurt, Yes I did fabricate the side windows and no they don't move. As for the original body I gave it to a mate, the one that gave me the '64 body, although some years later. Regards Dave B
  17. I'm finally building the GS roadster transkit that I bought off Ebay years ago. It obviously uses the Accurate Miniatures kit but I am using a Model Car Garage photo etch update set. I have also shortened the coil spring towers and will install home made coils with a set of appropriate plastic shocks. Not quite sure why I am doing this as it will not be readily visible on the built kit but it annoyed me immensely when building my Jim Hall version some time back. Just to be different this will be George Wintersteen's car with the big American mags. Have had the VRM decals for years. Tks for looking. Dave B
  18. An old build of mine that I do not recall posting previously. Once again an old slot car body, although this time Japanese and maybe Midori. I fixed the rear roofline to reflect the short roof version and fitted it over a Gunze Sanyo '62 250 GTO. chassis and interior. Perfect fit, can be lucky sometimes. Sprayed with auto acrylic and decals from the parts box, of course!! Tks for looking. Dave
  19. Nice build of an awkward kit William. Dave B

    Lotus 23

I was lucky enough to be given a mint Revell Lotus 23 slot car body some time back. It was minus head lights and head light glass but the glass could be vacformed. Finally decided to build it. Cut away the interior panel and scratch built the interior. Cast some suitable "wobbly" wheels, tyres and seats and painted it with auto acrylic. Decals out of the parts box. Looks great sitting besides my Maserati Tipo 61's, Lotus 11's and other period racing sports cars. Tks for looking Dave B
  23. Nice clean build Jason. Regards Dave B
  24. Tks all, appreciate the kind words. Dave B
