Hi Jim, I have a fine metallic bright silver auto acrylic, I just used that. Dave B

A mate gave me a couple of old unbuilt 1/24th Airfix kits and being a Maserati fan I just had to have a go at the Bora. As there is no chrome in the kit the wheels came from the parts box (Tamiya Group A Sierra) but I used the kit tyres. As it had the ugly American bumpers I scratchbuilt some thin bumpers out of .040" syrene and painted them with Molotow Chrome. Painted in auto acrylic 'special burgundy' and clear coated. Have also got the BMW M1 so I might look at that next. Tks for looking. Dave B

I was a happy little vegemite when Tamiya re-released their 60's slot car bodies here a few years back. Bought one of each and have just finished the "King Cobra". Although the 'number plate' that comes with it calls it a Ghia - De Tomaso Sports 5000 it is actually a more accurate take on the Peter Brock designed P70. All I had to do was fill in the rear wheel wells and alter the dashboard and fit exhaust pipes to make it a passable model. Scratch built the interior, made the wheels by using the slot car inserts and resin wheel backs, added aluminium tube exhaust pipes and made the rectangular headlights. Should have bought two then I could have also had a S5000!! Anyway, a nice addition to my 'different' 60's sports racers although I am not aware of it actually competing anywhere hence no race numbers! Just waiting on my mate to do the De Tomaso nose decal for me. Tks for looking. Dave B

Had this for ages but put it together whilst doing my Shelby De Tomaso P70 sports racer. Wheels & tyres from parts box, engine is the 4 pot OHV conversion from Revell '31 Model A Ford. Painted in plumb nail polish. Basic kit but looks reasonable. Tks for looking Dave B

Don't normally post this for down the Model Cars forum, more of a static builder these days, but I thought some may like to see my old restored 1/24th racers. My first slot car was a Cox Ford GT40, must have been about 15, and I am still racing although these days it is 1/32nd scale on routed tracks. I also have a few 1/32nd vintage racers but they are more shelf queens these days, as is this collection!!
