  1. This is a quick build of the Canadian born , but Australian legend, first race car. A little different to the Falcon GTHO's and Boss 302 Mustang with which he made his name in Oz. Ordinary build that I would not normally post but it's a bit boring here at the moment so here it is. Finished in auto acrylic red and clear. Decals from my stash (Patto's). Tks for looking Dave B
  2. Look great Rich, we obviously like similar subjects!! I hope you have some Capri's & BMW's etc to go with them Dave B
  3. Another great build William and thanks for posting the 'group' pic, looking forward to seeing them get completed!! Dave B
  4. Another nice build William. Good job with the wheel change and side curtains. Dave B
  5. Some years back my mate Roger received a 1970 AVS Shadow kit from his friend Walt in the States. Recently he received another, thanks Walt, so he gave it to me. After seeing Rich's DN4 in the Under Glass section of this forum I decided I had better post my WIP. It just happens to be April's subject in the latest Pete Lyons Velocity calendar!! Tks for looking Dave B
  6. Hi Rich, not sure how I missed this when it was on the front page. Fantastic build, looks great. I am currently building the Mk 1 AVS Shadow. Dave B
  7. Gary, that is really nice. You have also made me think, I have a mint Revell body, less glass, and a built Aurora GTO. If we get locked down totally over here that is a project. Dave B

  17. The story so far. Our hero bought an AMT bodied Ferrari 250 SWB. After racing it for 12 months he managed to roll it. Not liking the AMT interpretation of the 250 SWB he decided to turn it into a competition spyder and paint it yellow with a silver stripe. After racing for a further season he managed to blow the Ferrari engine, spin in his own oil, damage the body work and ruin the Borrani wire wheels in the process. Unable to afford a new V12 block and new Borrani wire wheels he installed a 3.8L Jaguar engine on triple side draft webers, fitted Halibrand wheels and did some minor bodywork modifications, including a new bonnet. He then painted it dark iridescent green and went back to the track with the Jagari and it's still being raced in historic events. Tks for looking Dave B
  18. Nice build William, somewhat shinier than the real thing! Dave B
  19. Nice build Robert, I recall having this as a kit like 50 years ago!! Long gone now. Dave B

  21. Looking really good Andrew, you are an artisan and would make John Cooper proud. Dave B
  22. That is going great Dan, look forward to seeing it 'under glass'. Dave B
  23. Following my post of my salvaged Italeri 250 SWB I decided to pull out of the dead car park my AMT 250 SWB. I converted this into a fictitious spyder some years ago as I was very disappointed with AMT's take on it. I lowered the nose/grill area, cut off the roof and built a rear deck and head rest but after being built for a while I felt it needed being rebuilt. It broke whilst pulling apart so it was then parked 'out the back'. I have now decided to resurrect it. Thought of fitting a 283 Chev but decided to stay with the V12 but will fit 6 side draft webers (cross over formation) and Halibrands. Hopefully it will end up like a special that may have been built in the late 50's had the owner rolled his coupe!! Will post it in 'under glass' in a few weeks, all being well. Tks for looking Dave B
  24. Tks guys, I appreciate the comments. Dave B
