  1. Really nice Stuart. Dave B
  2. Tks Sonny, the red car is a Maserati 450S in resin from Historic Racing Miniatures. Really nice resin kit, easy to build and finished off with Hasegawa PE wire wheels. Also has aftermarket PE bonnet clips. Dave B
  3. Great build Clifford. Dave B
  4. I bought this Monogram '32 some years back thinking I would build it as a period '50s rod. Was rather disappointed when I found it had four bars, air bags, etc., should have looked closer at the box!!. Anyway I have built it with a retro look, I think. Swapped out the motor for the Arden out of the '50 F1, but put on four branch headers and found some big & littles in the parts box. Sprayed in auto acrylic burgundy with a light coat of blackberry nail polish. Clear coated and polished out. Just something different from my '50/60s sports racers. Tks for looking Dave B
  5. Thanks guys. Dave B
  6. Hi Pat, the Elfin's and the Matich  are bodies I resin cast and scratch built everything else including vacuum forming the windscreens.  The Ferrari is a highly modified P4 coupe from Heller.

  7. Hi Pat, they are 1/24th. Dave B
  8. These have all been built for a while and were most likely posted when originally built. Left to right, rear to front they are: 1. Elfin 400 Repco - resin slush cast based on an old slot car buck some mates hand carved back in the '60s, (initially Bob Jane's car); 2. Matich SR3R Repco - resin slush cast based on a 'scale' Lancer body but lengthened to the correct wheel base; 3. Ferrari 350 Can Am - based on Heller P4 but modified according to plans in an old copy of Model Racing Replica News, (when owned by David McKays Scuderia Veloce; 4. Elfin 400 - as 1 above (this car actually morphed into #5 in real life), (initially Frank Matich's car); and 5. Elfin Traco Olds - as 1 above(as raced by Neil Allen). Thanks to my mate Phil for the majority of the decals. Tks for looking. Dave B
  9. Great looking for Roger, very clean Dave B
  10. Nice build Bruce, I particularly like the wheel detail. Dave B
  11. Hi Chris, great builds, I just LOVE the XJR14 and you have done them justice. Maybe one day I will procure one! Dave B
  12. Tks guys, appreciated. Dave B
  13. This build is box stock except for Hasegawa's PE wire wheels. I wanted a different colour for my TR and after some research found a French blue one entered in the '58 Le Mans by Equip Los Amigos. Was running 10th when crashed out on lap 72. It's my interpretation of this car as the driving lights position and number placings are incorrect. It was a great easy build and I wonder why Hasegawa have not released the later body style, there would be very little changes required to the mould? Mixed the auto acrylic myself and shot in clear. The pics do not do the colour justice. Goes well with my other '50s sports racers. Tks for looking Dave B
  14. That's a nice build Robert, finished off with a DEEP paint job. Congratulations! Dave B
  15. Looks good Paul, great colour scheme. Dave B
  16. Tks guys, appreciate the comments. It was a nice quick build. Dave B
  17. This is a quick build of the Canadian born , but Australian legend, first race car. A little different to the Falcon GTHO's and Boss 302 Mustang with which he made his name in Oz. Ordinary build that I would not normally post but it's a bit boring here at the moment so here it is. Finished in auto acrylic red and clear. Decals from my stash (Patto's). Tks for looking Dave B
  18. Look great Rich, we obviously like similar subjects!! I hope you have some Capri's & BMW's etc to go with them Dave B
  19. Another great build William and thanks for posting the 'group' pic, looking forward to seeing them get completed!! Dave B
  20. Another nice build William. Good job with the wheel change and side curtains. Dave B
  21. Some years back my mate Roger received a 1970 AVS Shadow kit from his friend Walt in the States. Recently he received another, thanks Walt, so he gave it to me. After seeing Rich's DN4 in the Under Glass section of this forum I decided I had better post my WIP. It just happens to be April's subject in the latest Pete Lyons Velocity calendar!! Tks for looking Dave B
  22. Hi Rich, not sure how I missed this when it was on the front page. Fantastic build, looks great. I am currently building the Mk 1 AVS Shadow. Dave B
  23. Gary, that is really nice. You have also made me think, I have a mint Revell body, less glass, and a built Aurora GTO. If we get locked down totally over here that is a project. Dave B
  24. Great build Mike and very innovative. Dave B
  25. Another great build William, I would love to see all Cobras together. Dave B
