  1. Great builds Rich, I have a couple of Fisher kits, they are great, plus an unbuilt Matra. Not much chance of getting any more in the near future however. Regards Dave B
  2. Don't normally post this for down the Model Cars forum, more of a static builder these days, but I thought some may like to see my old restored 1/24th racers. My first slot car was a Cox Ford GT40, must have been about 15, and I am still racing although these days it is 1/32nd scale on routed tracks. I also have a few 1/32nd vintage racers but they are more shelf queens these days, as is this collection!! Front row, left to right are: Midori Alfa Romeo Canguro, Revell 289 FIA Cobra with Cox GT40 wheels, Cox Cheetah, Cox Ferrari Dino coupe, Cox Ferrari Dino spyder, Cox mag frame Chaparral 2E, K&B chassis with AMT 289 Cobra body Back row left to right: Cox Chaparral 2 chassis and interior with Arii 2C body, Cox Chaparral 2D, Cox Chaparral 2, Cox Ford GT40, Cox Lotus 40, AMT Lola T70 with Cox GT40 wheels. Tks for looking Dave B
  3. Tks folks, I appreciate the comments. Gary, they are toy XI's , not XV's, sorry. Basically a copy of the Merit kits but with a friction motor Dave B
  4. Great build Paulo, it looks really good. Dave B
  5. Just a couple of pics of my 1950's Grand Prix and sports racing cars. Some of the resin bodies I back cast from old slot car bodies. Where correct all but one of the Merit kits have Herb Deeks wire wheels, the unrestored one nearest the HRM Maserati 450S doesn't. The models are: Rear row - Linberg Jaguar D Type, Fisher Cunningham C4R, Merit Aston Martin DB3S, Jimmy Flintstone Porsche 550A, HRM Maserati 450S, Merit Alfa Romeo 158 (2 off); Middle row - Chinese toy Lotus XV, resin Scarab Mk1, resin Lister Corvette, resin Lister Jaguar, scratchbuilt hydroplane using Merit Alfa 158 parts, Merit BRM, Merit Lancia Ferrari, Merit Jaguar D Type (on hoist); Front row - Chinese toy Lotus XV, Aardvark Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage (2), Merit Cooper JAP, Merit Maserati 4CLT, Merit Talbot Lago, Merit Maserati 250F, Merit Connaught. Tks for looking Dave B

  9. Tks guys, your comments are appreciated. Dave B.
  10. Looks great Nathan, a quality build. Dave B
  11. Hi Phil, 1/24th scale from a hand carved wooden buck (by a mate) immersed in silicon and slush cast in resin with a vacform screen by me, I did make the wheels as well. I cut the 'horns' off to make #4. David B
  12. My third, and final, Elfin 400 is my take on chassis "BB662" which I watched Frank Matich drive to victory in the 1966 Australian Tourist Trophy held at Longford in Tasmania. I have included a couple of pics of my other two. They are, #2 Frank Matich's Elfin 400/Traco Olds, #4 same car when owned by Neil Allen and referred to as the Elfin Traco Chev and #7 Bob Jane's Elfin 400 Repco. Had great fun building these ( and the Matich SR3R and Scuderia Veloce's Ferrari 250LM and 350 Can-Am). Thanks for looking. Dave B
  13. Great build Phil, I too loved The Prisoner (Patrick McNee by memory). Hope she appreciates the thought!! Dave B
  14. Tks all. Gary , yes Fujimi is the Modellers 2D. I have the disc, it's a pity one of the current model magazines couldn't do some articles in a similar vein as those that were in MRRN. Regards Dave B
  15. Just a couple of group pics of my Chaparrals. They are, front to back, left to right: LS 2C; Monogram 2D, considerably modified and with resin wheels/tyres; Fujimi 2D; Fisher 2F; Slush resin 2H, body and wheels & tyres are based on Mini Exotics and the rest is scratch built; scratch built 2J, courtesy of plans from Model Racing Replica News, miss that mag!; and Accurate Miniatures GS Vette but with correct bonnet (lower bulge and no vents). I also have the Cox 2, 2D and mag frame 2E but as these are slot cars have not included them. Tks for looking Dave B
  16. Nice build Benito, looks a little like Ulf Norinder's Swedish racing colours. This is how 3445GT is currently painted Regards Dave B
  17. Tks folks, your comments are appreciated. Dave B
  18. Great build Ismael. Love Fords but will probably never build that kit, just a bit too modern for me!! Dave B
  19. Hi Bernard, no, I did a lot of work to the plug and put it into silicon. See " on the work bench" Dave B
  20. Well I've finally finished my two Lister Knobbly's. They're only curbside but sit well with my other 50's sports racers. Having started with a single ratty fibreglass slot car body I'm pretty happy. The green and yellow car is my interpretation of Archie Scott-Brown's last win in a Lister before his first ever loss to another Lister, driven by Masten Gregory, then trying to stay ahead of Masten at Spa and crashing fatally. The burgundy car is a fictitious Chev powered American racer. Both are finished in auto acrylic. Tks for looking Dave B
  21. Nice build Phil, I have one to do, they say copying is the sincerest form of flattery. Hope you don't mind! Dave B
  22. Love the concept & build Brian, definitely out of square. Dave B
  23. Looks great Larry, reminds me of a bugeye Sprite I saw up here a while back. Dave B
  24. Very nice build Chris. Dave B
  25. Looking good Bernard. Dave B
