Nice! I've done the opposite (street rod front suspension with rear from the gasser), this setup looks pretty good too. Love that stance! more pics at link! http://public.fotki.com/TomK/my_model_cars/my_models/page23.html

Yep, you'd find the round eyes on box trucks and flatbeds, too, though I've seen a few '78 Customs with square eyes. Could have been added by a subsequent owner, though. The Rangers and '79 style always seemed more common to find, so if a guy cracked up the front end of his Custom and went to the salvage yard for replacement stuff, he'd have likely just used a '78 Ranger or '79 setup.

Love stuff like this!

Nice! Love the color and wheel swap.

Thanks guys! Now I'm sort of thinking of taking another one of these, modifying it into a Grand Marquis, and doing a phantom '92-97 Marauder.

Out Of Production Resin & Aftermarket Products
Chuck Most replied to Casey's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yep, Kevin Lutz of Missing Link is working on the 1911 Chevy. I'm a Ford guy and that's a kit I guarantee I'll be getting once it's available again. -
1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
Chuck Most replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It appears I don't have my '08 Challenger kit anymore, so I'll take your word for it. Some shared tooling between the two would make more sense (to me) than not anyway. One of those Magnum mills will end up in this '70 Barracuda when I get it. Pretty much bought the Streetburner reissue just for the engine and had a change of plans for the would-be recipient of the 6.1. -
1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
Chuck Most replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'll have to see if I still have the Revell Challenger and compare the engines. I think the Uptown Magnum has a 'pancake' deal- the engine is just sort of molded in with the engine bay. But it's entirely possible I might be thinking of the Uptown Charger. Huh... -
It isn't beige, but it is a Scooter model. It's an '82 model, but as far as I know the interior changed little, if at all, between '78 and the end of the run in '87. Not sure about earlier models. I'll see if I can get the pics up, I'll try to do it as soon as I can.

Couple Mustangs and a bike and a half and half a bike.

Like all of 'em, but I love that Shamrock '64.5 Mustang! -
Found in a barn south of Chicago.. Worlds first "Donk"
Chuck Most replied to cobraman's topic in Model Cars
Instead of chrome and murals, like on a modern donk, this one would go well with a little polished brass and a mule. (Note, I stole the "mural/mule" thing from an old Red Skelton sketch- seemed appropriate. ) -

Don't forget the 1:25 Magnum SRT8- not the ex-diecast Uptown version, but the full-detail one that was first issued as a Revell Muscle kit with a red car on the box and just reissued as a Streetburner series kit with a silver car on the box. That one has a 6.1 Hemi that's all but completely identical in size and parts breakdown to the Challenger's engine. -
Where's it going to be located? I'm thinking I might try to swing down there if I can get the work schedule situation figured out.

40 Ford Speed Shop Pickup
Chuck Most replied to Roncla's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I have this kit, but I'm a bit reluctant to build it. Love the way yours came out- especially the stance- it's very fitting for a hot rod, but realistic enough for one to imagine it actually used as a shop truck. -
3D printing growing as we speak
Chuck Most replied to bbowser's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't remember which issue (it was fairly recent) but Car and Driver did a small article on that car and spoke with its builder. -
The deck lights are there (they're barely visible in the rear 3/4 view). I mocked it up with the Mustang's roof bar, but didn't like it. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't like how the car looked with the lightbar or the way that particular light bar looked on the Buick... still toying with sticking it on there, though.

Love this!

Oh, sweet! If you need reference pics for the interior I might have a few.

Latest Issue ? ...

Gotta love guys like Eddie... never show their own stuff (and probably aren't even modelers), but think they're God's gift to the hobby and master modelers. -
POCHER 1/8 Aventador
Chuck Most replied to samurai7's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When Nolan was having his people design the new Batmobile, said he wanted it to have elements of the Murcielago, and Bruce Wayne does drive Murcielago in the first two Batman movies he directed (I think it was an Aventador in the one with the silly-voiced Bane), so I think you're right about him having a thing for Lambos. Anyway- I have zero interest in this kit, but I can't wait to see what you do with yours. -
Anyone making a light duty diesel engine?
Chuck Most replied to wagonmaster's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've been saying it for years- if somebody made a full-detail kit of a '99-up Ford Super Duty (even if it was not a diesel), or an '06-up Ram Power Wagon 2500 (not available as a diesel or dually but still...), I'd be first in line to buy two cases of each. All you other "nobodies" out there can get in line behind me. -
Question on AMT model kits
Chuck Most replied to wheelingmountaineer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You'd just have to look at photos of the real car (whichever one you are building a model of), and go from there. Some AMT kits do have painting guides, but not all of them, just so you'll know in the future. -
On the contrary- I've got a '98 Crown Vic around here somewhere that's about 1/3 of the way to being an '03 Marauder. And Rob- yeah, that's one I wish they'd kitted as well. Thanks guys!
