  1. This started out as a promo- I added the wheels and tires from a Revell Impala police car and the CHP decals and equipment from a Revell '90 Mustang notch and threw together this phantom cop car because I was sort of bored that day... Still thinking of adding the spotlight, and possibly the lightbar from the Mustang as well. Any thoughts?
  2. Are you joking? That's one of the coolest truck models I've seen in a long time.
  3. Ford never had a direct competitor to the '94-66 Impala SS, but I got to wondering one day "what if they had?" So, from me, the king of awful gloss black paint jobs comes this gloss black sedan, built from the Lindberg Ohio Highway Patrol kit, with the wheels and tires from a Revell '62 Impala, a modified grille and exhaust, and a center console from a '66 Galaxie. The name? Well, I guessed if Chevy could blow the dust off the Impala SS moniker for their giant killer, why couldn't Ford have done the same thing with the Galaxie XL name? Oh, the other thing I hate about gloss black models (besides the fact I can't paint them) is how they attract mucho amounts of dust at an alarming rate... you'll see more than a few dust specs in the photos.
  4. A buddy of mine has a '69 Cougar Eliminator. One time a guy said to him "Say, that's a nice Charger... why's it say "Cougar" on the quarter panels?"
  5. Hot Rod doesn't even use a cover date anymore- I see nobody complaining about it being 'on time', or the lack of a cover date. I'm paying less than cover price and having it delivered to my door- so you're not going to hear me gripe. Anyway, I got 180 in the mail on Tuesday in pristine condition, so it's on its way if you subscribe.
  6. Ah... good old Totally Krap Models. Yeah- that most definitely is NOT what you want!
  7. Just an update for those of you following this.... Nothing. No progress to report. None. But I'm "supposed" to be taking it to a show sometime this winter, so who knows...
  8. Great job on depicting a bad day for the driver. Love the smoky fire! I like your first name too.
  9. Yep- they're different vehicles- sort of like the Bronco and Bronco II- they share half a name and a Ford badge but not much else.
  10. Loving this! I've got a long-stalled '41 Willys custom on the to-do pile and I was thinking of chopping it. I'll be keeping a close eye on this for sure!
  11. Wow... this is beyond sweet! Just the Lark or the Chriscraft would have been cool enough on its own, but they look great paired up together.
  12. Haven't bought anything from Ed for a while- looks like I might have to put in a call to him again. Yep, between that interior and the chopped body from MAD, I have no excuse not to pick up one of these kits.
  13. I thought you might have seen the Motor City '41 Plymouth four door body someone mistakenly listed as a '46 Dodge, but after checking it out that must not be the case- The Motor City Plymouth does (obviously) use the AMT '41 Plymouth as a donor, but does not include different grilles, costs much less than $110, and to top it off is a Plymouth.
  14. Love it! One of these days I'm going to redo the one I'm 90% sure I still have and do it up as a Medler Electric van.
  15. Fantastic job on both.
  16. By today's mainstream you mean Eminem, right? (Yes, yes... I know he actually is a decent rapper, but his voice is annoying. Speak from the throat, Marshall, not your sinus! )
  17. That I never got myself. I know that sounds weird coming from a guy like me, but you have to 'fake' it on plastic- I can't just take a model kit, leave it in the woods for 50 years and have it look the way I want from natural weathering. I mean, yeah, I can tell that takes a lot of skill, but why? I want to see faded paint and patina, but I want to see the real thing.
  18. Not over- it's just blended in and become part of the mix just like Pro Touring, Gasser-look cars, and the like. I'm still waiting for '70's Street Freaks to make a comeback.
  19. Pretty much exactly what they are, though the big Transit should be coming stateside shortly, if it hasn't already. Nice looking van, Rick!
  20. Love this! I've always wanted to build a 1:1 '60 Plymouth, but use the front end from a '61.
  21. This is the third or fourth time I've checked out these cars, and I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Love '60's drag-racers, and you always bring a level of quality to all of your models that's rarely matched- great to see those two attributes combined, and thrice in one thread, no less!
  22. N-I-C-E. These old annuals always look great built up, and bonus points for saving a shabby older builtup.
  23. Bullet-Nose Studebaker Coupe '37 Studebaker Coupe or Coupe Express (pickup) '48-'50 Hudson Commodore '99-up Ford F-Series Super Duty A GOOD '57 Ford T-Bird
  24. Not to rub it in, but for me it means once he's settled in at the Owosso location the round trip from my place to Dean's will be a whopping 30 miles less.
