  1. I can see all sorts of future possibilities for the square body trucks, and I have ambitious plans for this tooling. I's just one of so many great project ideas that are floating around right now. I know I won't be able to do them all, but I'm sure going to try. -Steve
  2. Thanks for the support Rob !!! I had to do some arm twisting to retire the GMC Deserter version in order to get this one done. -Steve
  3. Those are not supposed to be there, should be pre-trimmed before packaging. Thanks for sharing that. -Steve
  4. I agree that the original engine is not a good representation of the stock Y-block engine. This is one area of the kit that we made minimal changes, so it is what it is. The chassis will be also relatively unchanged as well. -Steve
  5. I believe the slide-in camper was last seen in the 1996 Buyers Choice issue. -Steve
  6. With all the excitement over the '60 F-100 I forgot to mention that this version of the "70 Coronet Super Bee is a special run that feature both the Peacock Blue and Ledger Green "C stripes" with the third color being Black. We also did the tail stripes in Black, White and Peacock Blue just for fun. When this run of kits is over, I doubt that you will see those rare colors on the decals again. -Steve
  7. The tooling for the next version is already completed so there won't be any additional parts added at this point. If I get a chance to do further versions, we'll see. Look for a preview of version 2 this fall.
  8. Nice build. That's the Historic Medina Ohio Public Square, I drive through there almost every day. I'm curious where the background photo came from. Steve
  9. Licensing is the "third rail" of the model kit industry. You don't want to mess with it, we're too big of a target. On the next issue of the kit, I'll do something different with the tires other that whitewalls. Maybe pad print red lines on both the stock tires and the slicks. I have about a year to sort that out. I do appreciate the feedback even when it's not all sunshine and rainbows. -Steve
  10. I hear you on the slicks. The molded branding was removed, but they again were otherwise matched to the original vintage drag slick shape although these are solid not hollow. I'm certainly open to adding a pad print but we've been restricted on lot of the vintage style tires due to licensing issues. For example, we can no longer print the words Polyglas, Blue Streak, Speedway, GT and others. I've repeated asked if we can explore new brands but so far it's been a dead end. -Steve
  11. The tires that are in the new kit are copies of the original MPC Goodyear Speedway tires that were in the '68-'69 annuals and many others. Just without the sidewall branding. The new wheel backs do fit the vintage tires from the original kit. I just checked to be sure. For those who want red lines the new '68 GTO uses the exact same tires as new '68 Coronet but with the red pad print. Those kits should be available now or very soon. -Steve
  12. Well done Tom !! I'm glad to see your still building squad cars. Steve
  13. It's still in the test shot phase, I don't expect it to be ready before late spring or early summer. -Steve
  14. Yes thanks for the explanation, Tim. They are supposed to represent the "mag type" wheel covers as shown in the photo below. This is the same show car that inspired the original box art FYI. Other than the factory brochure and this show car, you would need to do a deep dive to find any restored '68 R/T's wearing them so I can see where somebody might confuse them for the commonly seen Magnum 500 wheels. -Steve
  15. I will say for now that there is an AMT 1407 kit coming but I'm not revealing any further details about it yet. I will have an official announcement and a built 3D printed mockup on display at the DAAM show near Detroit coming up in about two weeks. You'll have all your answers about it then. I also plan to reveal at least two more un-announced items in April at NNL East that I think are just as good. -Steve
  16. Unfortunately, it's part of our hanger shot inventory which I'm free to look through, but I can't take anything. After further discussion it's actually the '52 Chieftan body, but either way the chances of us doing anything with are very, very slim. Still, I was as shocked as anybody to see it had survived. -Steve
  17. I would say it's our longest running 3n1 Customizing kit. The 57 T-Bird didn't become a 3n1 kit until 1962. The I959 Imperial was out of the lineup for 47 years and contains modern tooling chrome and glass, our first significant effort of cloning vintage parts. The oldest functioning tool we have produces the AMT 1951 Pontiac Chieftan 4 door promo body shell, but the rest is gone so I don't see it ever coming back. -Steve
  18. There's nobody you could easily call into at Round2 other than Customer Service, and they wouldn't have access to future plans or would they share that kind of information over the phone. If it's not posted on one our social media pages by Chad or heard directly from me Jamie, or John G. it's not accurate. Would I like to do more MPC Pro-stock items, sure. Just like all the missing AMT and MPC annuals we no longer have, anything is possible but that's a really long list right now. -Steve
  19. AMT1305 '66 Mustang was also shipped before the Lunar New Year break last month. They should be here by now, but they are in a different container so I don't know for sure. -Steve
  20. The MPC978 '68 Dodge Coronet and AMT1411 '68 Pontiac GTO got into port last week and were waiting to be unloaded. So, they should be available very soon. Don't worry if they sell out, we're ready to make more. -Steve
  21. A lot of the Testors kit were done by Lindberg so Round2 owns most of those. I'd expect you will see many of them run again including the Custom C1500 pickup. -Steve
  22. On the request form there's a place to add items like photos. That would be best way for anyone who has any parts issues. It will get to the right people quicker that way. Steve
  23. Sorry about that, here's the link to request a part. If you are able to please send us a photo of the defective or damaged part, that will help the factory with maintaining quality control. https://www.round2corp.com/request-a-part/ Steve
  24. As far as I know, we still have the inserts to make the stock 5 window and Tudor Sedan versions. I'm hoping to get them both done at some point. -Steve
  25. Same basic Street Rod only kit as last issued around '95 but with updated box art and decals. -Steve
