  1. When you're ready to do a tutorial on the i-beam axles, I'm ready to follow along. I have yet to find the right shape moded.
  2. I am a great fan of Fisher resin. I was greatly saddened by the loss of their business in the fire. I'd love to see them able to restart their business.
  3. Wow......any in progress pictures?
  4. More money to spend with Atlantis and Moebius.
  5. Until T.E.N. (the successors of Petersen) pulled the plug on most of their publications and Rodders Journal died, I'd buy at least one magazine a month. Now I rarely walk into a book store. I used these magazines as a recurring source of inspiration. Now I lack a source of current inspiration. I do have a huge collection of older magazines but re-reading a magazine from five to thirty years old isn't the best source of new inspiration. So my question is this.....where do you find inspiration?
  6. When I first started looking at this topic I thought you had it in the wrong category. Then I started reading it. It truly looks like you're making an amazing model model. I will be following along.
  7. I've got one on my shelf......started it forty years ago. I plan to return to it in this decade.
  8. Concerning the MPC 1971 model kits, MPC had a whole series of Mild and Wild kits. If you'll google the Mild and Wild series you'll see some really disgusting examples. MPC had great success with the Zinger series and tried to recapture it with this series.
  9. Pretty easy to do if you're skilled in Photoshop.
  10. Chop tops have always challenged me. This is a very good and helpful tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Coming up this weekend.... BlizzCon 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. https://www.ipmscolumbus.org/blizzcon2022-whereandwhen/
  12. It's great to see this one built. I remember seeing on the shelves and always passing on it.....bad move. It really needs reissued.
  13. I might have one of these in my stash....I'm enjoying seeing this one put together.
  14. I absolutely love the detail pictures of the body mods. I always use tape and can't say I'm typically happy. I'll have to try your method. Mike
  15. The Perry's grill looks so much better than Jo-han's. Perry's also had the four door Taxi body for Gapp and Roush.
  16. I'm impressed by the builds in this thread. Truly inspirational.
  17. I'm glad there were bidders who respect the art of this car.
  18. Looks like you parked in the wrong part of town. Inexcusable.
  19. The Unimat 3 was discontinued when the Unimat PC was introduced. The PC was a nice machine with some weird idiosyncrasies. The PC was designed as a hobbyist lathe that could be easily adapted to CNC using Emco's proprietary software. It was rather pricey. Overall the PC was a more robust machine than the 3/4. The power feed was very well engineered. The biggest failing was a bespoke VDO motor that was nearly impossible to swap for another motor. The Sherline blew it away in the marketplace. The Unimat 4 was pretty much the same lathe as the 3 but introduced after the PC pretty much failed in the marketplace. If I remember correctly, the 3 was made in Europe and the 4 in Taiwan. It is disappointing the PC failed. It was a very nice piece of equipment that with a few engineering flaws.
  20. I have not used it but have seen others use it for bodies of 1950's rods and earlier. Gives a nice low level shine that seems more appropriate to that era than some other paints.
  21. There's so many nice things here. The engine looks like a stock Ford installation. The wagon conversation is also very nice.
  22. Moebius has quickly become one of my two favorite kit manufacturers.....just need the gasser released.
  23. It would have been interesting to be in the meeting where these were discussed. "So we've got 10,000 Wynsjammers molded up but no one is buying....What can we make with them?"
  24. I think the weathering is very good. My eye is drawn to the transmission......looks dead on.
