Are those Slixx decals or originals? The decals really look like they could benefit from a second set applied over them. Where'd you get the Drag 500s. Those are hard to find in a kit.

Just as I predicted earlier. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/118367-first-look-amts-retooled-flying-wedge-rail-dragster/#comment-1726334 Question is will the Slixx Kenny Goodell decals fit the Flying Wedge? http://www.slixx.com/d1688.htm?id=2750 I read where that's the true origin of the original mold. Originally issued as the Steve McGee Black Beautywhich originally was the Goodell car.

iBorg replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I've long struggled with whether model building is an art or a craft. This model is definitely fine art. -
Corvette C7R (Daytona winner)

I absolutely love the idea of working from a known kit and updating it to the accuracy we desire. You've thrown so many details into this iit has become more than a model but a replica. Please keep on sharing updates. When I get around to one of the Corvettes in a box, I'll refer to your example as a great set of instructions. -
Honestly I'd clean it polish it and add a bit of detail. You labeled it so right as a 70's build of a '34 Ford. This era of customs very well may be the next wave of customs. The rat rod thing has played out. The 50/early 60s may be near that point. This is the next big thing.

Love it.....very unusual and very well done.

I've tried to chop two VW Bugs. Tried being the operative word. After screwing up both tries, I'll have to try your method. Looks very good. This is a build I'll be following.

Enjoy the Holidays Tim. May this be a wonderful Christmas celebration. Don't keep us waiting, We might start thinking you're mortal in the skills department. I keep seeing things I don't think I'd attempt in 1/16 shrunk to 1/25. When my equipment is set up, be prepared for a lot of questions.

Circut or other scrapbooking tools

I started this topic for the great wisdom of the group. Once again the depth of knowledge and willingness to share is fantastic. -
Circut or other scrapbooking tools
iBorg posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've seen some amazing things done using scrapbook cutters. I anticipate the chance to buy one in January. Any recommendations for or against? I'd love to cut light weight plastic and maybe aluminum. Thanks, Mike -
I really would love you to make some Youtube videos. I really would love to see you in action.

Again.....my thoughts are its still getting better! This in 1/25. Amazing. Years ago I was told the best way to make a great model was to make every sub assembly a model of its own. You must have heard the same thing. Are the belts still available? I'd be interested in your math to get the teething right.

I know Revell released the Liberty Classic engines as kits. I snagged a hemi but missed the SOHC Ford. I can still find the assembled motors. My question is this, how hard is it to tear one of these down to add personal details and put it back together? Thanks! Mike

First Look - AMT's retooled "Flying Wedge" Rail Dragster
iBorg replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I won't be surprised to see the Wedge reissued a couple of times. The Garlits RE-1 is out as Prudhomme's Yellow Feather. When this was first announced I predicted the Prudhomme wedge. Not a very succesful car (all wedges didn't perform as well as hoped). I'll go on record again.....Round 2 will release a Prudhomme wedge. Proof? Look at the new body and the attached pictures. The rear is almost a perfect match. The bottom of the wedge does appear to have too much of an angle too it. That's the only fault there. The exhausts started being under the body like a funny car but was moved in an effort to improve the car. The front spoiler appears very close to correct. I wonder when this version will ship. Either way, I'll end up with both of them. If Round2 releases the wedge and the Ivo versions, they're going to get more of my money. -
1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018

Mercy.....another idea to steal.....I mean borrow. Where did you get the rivets? Another killer detail on a killer model. -
Heck.....I'll take the kit off of your hands......'tis a grail for me.

The best way to improve this model is once finished, put it in my display cabinet.

Remember you rock on a porch, you rock out in a Porsche. Now if they'd do the same thing for Audi.....Is Oddie, Outie or ahhhhdie?

Early '60s, NHRA legal Chevy C/Gas Supercharged 'gasser'
iBorg replied to traditional's topic in Model Cars
You're so right. It always gets me going when people post any of the Revell gassers (except the Thames and Anglia) that had the round tube chassis and call them gassers. Round tube chassis were not class legal in the sixties. Those were for the "hot cars" like altereds. I love your build. Did this start with a die-cast body? Its a great build. -
I'd be tempted if I had a spare Revell body to merge it with the MPC. I first thought you were wrong about the windows and then did a search......the Revell windows really are tiny compared to thre real car.
-
I've always had a love hate relationship with the Revell Beretta. Some of the lines look so good but some are "funky" to allow it to fit on the J2000 chassis. You've corrected those. Also I really like the work on the chassis. This one is worthy of watching.

Mercy......you keep amazing me. Every page I either learn something or believe it can't get any better......and it does.

Finished my new hobby room (almost)
iBorg replied to Kit Basher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm in the same boat of building a 1:1 work area. The cabinets look awesome. I agree with there being some ideas to steal. The enclosed compressor may be a good sound deadener. I'm also interested in how well your spray booth works.
