  1. This is a kit that is sorta mixed blessing for me. I love what I see the finished car being but struggle with the details of the kit. In my mind I see something like the Instant Funny cars, but struggle with the chassis. I'd really like to build the type of weekend warrior car that a couple of guys would buy the early Nova and swap in the high performance goodies off another car. Doable but..... But the chassis should be a unibody unlike the generic tube chassis of the kit. I've thought about possible options, Miss Deal seems to come to mind but that's not the unibody chassis this car should have. I've looked at both Revell and AMT early Camaros but those chassis are too small. Any suggestions as to what might work? Thanks, Mike
  2. To expand this thread a bit......what about hobby shops in the tradition of the old hobby shops. Nitro Hobby in Nitro, WV is a large full selection shop (with a heavier emphasis on trains ) that has been around with two owners since the 60's. Go there every time a new issue comes out. About twenty years ago they started Teays Valley Hobby in Teays Valley, WV. Teays Valley is the larger shop with a large selection of RC, plastic kits, some Sci-Fi, tools, paints, railroading and general supplies. Both stores also carry craft items to serve the female clientele. Plus they've offered a space for meetings as some of the guys are trying to launch a club.
  3. I saw a Honda 750.....must have. I couldn't find the chopper and info?
  4. MERCY.......that's pretty. Shame to put it under a body.
  5. More details please...... Where did you get the decals, motor, wheels, tires, WIP pics? This is a great build of a difficult kit that I actually have.
  6. Mercy it raining Monzas! What a good thing to see growing! Both of these builds are wonderful. Can't wait to see them finished.
  7. My two cents......leave the Borsch hemi out of it. Few gasser folks ran 426s, as most were 392s. I'd also look into reinforcing the Plymouth frame instead of the truck frame. More than likely if it is going to have a blown motor, it would have aftermarket wheels. I totally agree with the comments about the slicks. These cars ran in the 60's. Wide tires were an invention of the 70's. A better kit to steal from is the Revell Miss Deal......a whole lot there can be stolen for your build.
  8. Absolutely stunning. Where do you get the decals and the other non standard stuff? Truly getting me to want to try my hand at this type of conversion.
  9. Mercy.....you're inspirational.
  10. I'd love to find some 1/16 decals for the Charger Daytona.
  11. Looks great....even more so when I know it came from a snapper.
  12. The skill on this site always amazes me. Beautiful model......thanks for showing some of the WIP pictures.
  13. What about a Grump Lump? Should be easy with sheet plastic.
  14. Did you make the decals? They look great.....truly great eye candy!
  15. Great inspiration!
  16. I followed drag racing closely in this period. When this kit was released successful Ford pro stock racers were running Mavericks. There were very few full bodied pro stock 71-73 Mustangs. If it was a real car, it had very limited, if any success.
  17. Several great offerings that decals are needed for. Any ideas where to get the "correct" decals for some of these great cars?
  18. I've been curious about the Caswell system.......seems like a good investment.
  19. Let me get my eyes back in my head......wow! Those terminals are amazing.
  20. Very nice machine work. Absolutely killer.
  21. That's a neighborhood I want to live in.
  22. Very nice.....
  23. More money in that than I have in my house.....who cares what its hauling?
  24. Paris Brothers ran a similar car the last year of top gas....A great idea except NHRA's decision to drop the class.
  25. I've done a bit of machining and can only say...... I bow before you all talented one! I look forward to the next segment.
