Richard Petty 1981 Dodge Mirada...the car that never run!
moparfarmer replied to Plasticfanatic's topic in WIP: NASCAR
Was it not for the openings in the C panel it was a good car..I read somewhere where the side glass in the C panel made it not to good..Also the flat openings on the headlights did something too..Sure was a sweet looking car though..Didn't Junior Johnson and Darrel Waltrip test one too? -

Dave Shuklis' Shamrock
moparfarmer replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was very young back then but remember seeing his models in the magazines..Don't want to ruin your story, but I know Dave was challenged physically but how would he paint and put these model together with just his mouth? He was a very good builder then and would probably still be now..Hope I didn't step on any toes.. -
Very nice job..The JoHan if the better car but the AMT has the better chassis and seats..
-
The pictures with both of them is awsome..I always thought the 69 Camaro was the nicest one built..Both are very nice..
-
Glad to see you built it..When shipped there was a clean break at the top of the vent post on right side..Must have been some shipping damage with the bulged vent posts..You've done a very good job..I have a hardtop promo that needs a right rear light and chrome..Got a flywheel..Any interest? Could be had real cheap plus freight..Done a nice job on the rag..Very clean and well done..

For a slumpbuster, thats a pretty impressive start..I imagine it will look killer..I'am not a big fan of different wheels but those in the last picture will surly make your machine stand out..VERY NICE

1965 Dodge Coronet 500 by Polar Lights
moparfarmer replied to JayC's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Wish someone would do a Coronet 2 door sedan(1965) I removed the roof off a Lindberg Dodge and mated it to the Polar Lites 65 Convertible..Turned out not bad but a kit would have been better..The Lindberg and Polar Lites stuff works good together so it will look ok.. -
Four door or sedan/post interest
moparfarmer replied to disconovaman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If a compy does a two door post there are many variables they can probably make. A four door would be limited for sure. Mobius has done the 65 Belvedere which is a big seller and they will have more varients of the car. Thus making more money off the tool.. -
1.1 cars that got away
moparfarmer replied to l88 chevelle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1970 Road Runner coupe...B5 blue unrestored 43000 mile original car..Won many unrestored classes in the SD, Minnesota Mopar shows..Sold it when I had my stroke in 1998..Was featured in Hemmings Muscle Machines in June 2014..If I won a lottery I would have it back..Was a great car.. -
Very nicely done and super clean..The color sure makes it stand out..Very well done...
-
You made a comment that when you build a GM it turns out nice..I mostly do Mopar stuff but my nicest models are 62 Chev Bel-Air and 70 Chevelle..
-
AS you mentioned in the beginning, the wheels don't do anything for me but they suit the model in its modern style..Very well done and CLEAN..I'd be proud to call that my model..You can send it to me, just the way it is...
-
Very CLEAN and well done..Paint is flawless and wheels sure suit the build..VERY NICE...I LIKE..

Has anyone built this wagon?
moparfarmer replied to Ben269's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Got friend on another board who built one..Very nicely done resin and his built up very nice..You will be pleased... -
I haven't been in the model room building or anything in the last at least six months..My wife all of a sudden got all this material and wants to do quilting..She said she would work in the basement and I would go downstairs with her and do models..Tonight was the night..Spent about hour and half..Glued the engine compartment of a Lindberg 64 Dodge 330 2 dr sedan(that I painted many years ago) and primed a 64 LIndberg 64 Plymouth that a friend grafted a 2 dr post top on..Primed the Plymouth and my work on the filler turned out real good..Glued the underhood stuff turned out real good too..Hope Testors orange tube glue is good and doesn't break during build-up or when finished..Also waxed a few in my case(Meguiar's Gold Class paste) Glued some lose parts on a 58 Chev(bought on E-Bay years ago) and put in the case..Had a good time tonight at the bench and hope to have the urge to go downstairs again tomorrow night....

1963 Pontiac Bonneville Hard Top. Update, 3/25
moparfarmer replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
You know that whatever Steve builds it will come out very well done and clean..His builds are flawless...Black with that interior will look killer... -
If you are making the "Yellow Banana" you've got to kick up the rear 1/4 fenders..Junior Johnson sure did some work on that car..Too bad Bobby Isaac crashed it soon after it was built..

Question about AMT Color Me Gone 64 Dodge
moparfarmer replied to chriscarroll.ogre's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
If someone is looking for a Dodge 330 with a slant, get the one with the green/blue car on the box..Its got the correct bench seat in it..The one with the red car has a bucket seat interior which is incorrect..The 64 Belvedere Black car on box also has a slant but has no dog dish caps and bucket seats which is also incorrect for that model of Plymouth.. -

moparfarmer replied to landman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
We've had -28 degrees celcius here for about two weeks with nights going down to-36Celcius...(-28F to lows of -32F) You guys don't know what cold is..Also 2 Colorado Lows with 12-20 inches of snow... -
You sure got it going..Very nice, stance is right on and the wood/inserts look just too real..I'd leave the skirts off it(but thats just me and its your model)..Very clean and well, WOW!

Beautiful, very nice... -
Alan, I've been using Meguiar's products on my 1:1 for 35 years and models for 20 years..Meguiar's cleaner or Scratch X2.0 then Gold Class paste to finish it off..Been having great results..What you've got is real good stuff too..You will never have to buy Novus products again..
