  1. This version with the card stock display..........hmmmmmmm Or a new spooky display for Hearst Woody....
  2. Picked up 2 of them at Ollies latest blow out. Nice work!
  3. What an ugly reissue......... R2 does a better job than RC2 did......retro box, display stand and go back to duel skinny slicks on rear and I'll buy two more. Maybe a 'Surf Hearst' box and display would be good.
  4. A reissue with the cardstock display would make sense!!! Seems to be the current trend.
  5. Neat, clean cool lookin build!
  6. What I don't understand is Columbus Ohio has a number of good shops......but a city about the same size, Charlotte, has zero.
  7. I got the Trail 70 kit Sat at Toledo. I rode a 70 for a number of years back in the day. Kit was $20....looks cool.
  8. When the Hobby Town franchise system was pitched to us many years ago at the RCHTA trade show we went and met with them. We had an established hobby shop already but the promises they made sounded good. But we said no thanks. The fees were high in our opinion. We knew the hobby biz very well so they couldn't help us there. And their advise and merchandising was not worth the fees either. I used to visit Hobby Town stores all over the county....all closed now and in major cities. I think their fee structure added to changes in the hobby added to lack of disposable income....perfect storm.
  9. Never easy......we lost our 13 yo Manx recently. You gave many years of care,,,,you did good.
  10. And a model car builder........last night talked about Revell Roth kits. (as a kid)
  11. THAT'S FUNNY!!!! Those are my glasses I'd taken off to look at the kit!! Your photo??
  12. Good work.....never knew it was raced that way.....I only attended races in the SE so I see why now. thx
  13. It's a real mix up for sure!
  14. I wish Randys site was up.....know the answer is there!!!!! It just seems there are too many odd things to make it real Petty Ent car. Look at vintage pics......Petty cars were very 'clean' (minus decals) around the #43 and C pillar. And the modern tires are odd. I can't say 100% either way!
  15. COOL project!!! Not sure why the WB is a tiny bit different from Revell to JoHan......but not too hard to fix. The Revell kit opens up a number of conversions. Add the 72 rear bumper and alter the grille to the S&H and you get a 1973 notch. I want to build a Big Lebowski 4 door myself.
  16. Pretty sure that's a Petty tribute car and not a vintage photo. I was working in and around NASCAR at the time and never saw the flipped paint scheme. Kyle did run a flipped scheme on the #42 at times.......but the #43 never did. This is a recent photo as 'Craftsman truck series' and 'Goodyear Eagle' are not 70's for sure. A cool car.....but not a authentic vintage racer IMHO.
  17. Revell did not have a table at Toledo this year......but I meet with Ed.
  18. R2 showed at Toledo a retro box for reissue of the old 58 Chevy kit.....but that was all.
  19. Ed Sexton brought the new Fusion kit to Toledo Sat......looked very good....can't wait. Hit Dec
  20. I only use Walthers Solvaset on decals. Some claim it's to strong....used right never an issue. Walthers started making decals in 1930's and was the first to have a decal system. What will happen in your case........only one way to find out........
  21. no eta still........rumor has t we may have lost the history.......can't think there is no back-up.
  22. Long ago when the Fruit wagon was a very rare kit......but I wanted one...I built my own version. I made it from a Paddy Wagon kit. The fruit and veggies are made from oven clay painted. Easy to make.
  23. Nice work..... I just picked up the OLDS in that series at Toledo mint for $15. I like them.
  24. I just ship myself and have ZERO issues. I do not understand why folks use it.
  25. I was watching that one...... And yes.....he gets more for other builds.....but they are often costly resin or rare kits and not $19 new kit. Good for him....I'd not pay it.
