Well........I got a little upset when PETERSON museum itself had a American Graffiti display of all the 'star' cars and each had a Barris crest decal applied and some noise about Barris being involved.......which is incorrect as far as I have discovered. Still.......he did do a lot of work. RIP PS there was a thread on this topic
Nice clean builds in great colors!! Plus great seeing another Flock car....I did the decal art for that one. Ms flock was a neighbor of mine when I lived in Charlotte.
That kit came from an era when tooling was being cut up and modified to eliminate anything they could.......including positive locators. finished well considering what you started with.
As a owner of a few rarer collector cars.....I don't want to see GOOD cars cut up for a short lived movie carrer. But everything I read on the building of the Mad Max vehicles said they used cars that for the majority were junk. They WANTED junk as it was pre-weathered and dented!!! The Chevys for the War wagon were parts no one would try and save........I am sure some salvageable parts were used......and entire cars like 'Elvis; were complete road worthy cars that owners choose to sell.......but the vast majority was stuff I'd not tackle myself.
I don't think there is a type glue NOT on my work desk. CA, epoxy, Testors tube glue, Micro Weld, white glue, Gorilla Glue etc etc.....can't have too many!!!
Very nice work!!! I picked up the kit at Toledo. I spent WAY too much time on a real Trail 70 back in the day. Loved that bike. Buddy had a 60 and we rode all the time in mountains of WV.
Just watch the film 'idiocracy' it is set some 100+ years in the future.....but will happen, is happening, much sooner.....sometimes it's good to be old.
Well since you asked so nice............
I am working on a Giga too.....along with a War Wagon. Both stalled due to my Dad passing expectantly and me caring for the estate. BUT......I hope this winter to get back in full swing,
Does this count??????
My own build and design
Calling it junk is a bit harsh. 'Vintage challenge' might be more correct. Don't know that I'll buy one......having a built version don't 'need' one..... but who knows. Another view. And yes...I built it over a weekend as a fun build to see what I could make of what was in the box....
