  1. Hello Everybody! I really enjoy working with this kit, it's well engineered and builds rather quickly. I'm also impressed with the quality of the castings. I'm finding very little flash or any of the other problems often associated with an older kit. The seats and carpet are painted. It looks like a little touch-up may be needed around the carpet edges and another few dabs on the carpet. Embossing powder seems to act a little weird with brush paint. Here is the nearly completed dashboard with the acetate cover in place. It's one of those little details that may not be directly noticed but will contribute to the overall impression of detail and completion. That's all I have for now. As always, please like, comment and subscribe... Oops, wrong channel! But you get the idea. Thanks, David G.
  2. The way I see it, all builds are a compromise between three things: 1) What we want to do. The dream or vision we have in mind as we build. 2) What we are capable of doing. What our skills and available materials and equipment allow for. 3) What the kit allows us to do. One can only do so much with a kit. I think you hit an excellent compromise! The build is rich with detail, well constructed, and seems to be an accurate representation of the car which inspired it. I'd be proud to put it in my display case. David G.
  3. Great looking bikes and figures, excellent shop clutter! David G.
  4. Gorgeous paint, nice detail work. Nicely Done! David G.
  5. That's a nice set of trucks. David G.
  6. Neat idea with the twin tonneaus, I could see a pair of vintage style roll bars added to that. David G.
  7. Beautiful color! It looks like the paint went on nicely too. David G.
  8. Fabulous Work! Clean, tight and pretty, it looks great from every angle. The interior is especially nice. David G.
  9. Nice work fabricating the brackets! I never did like floating engine accessories. David G.
  10. Hello Everybody! The body prep is mostly done. There wasn't much to do which is surprising considering the age of this kit. So now, on to the interior. Here are the basic interior colors, Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand and Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth for the carpet. The seats are currently in primer with some basic shading applied. They'll eventually be painted Light Sand. I got some embossing powder on the floor to add some texture for the carpet. I'll give it a day to dry then spray some Dull Coat and follow up with Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth. That's all for now Folks! As always, thanks for looking and all comments are appreciated. David G.
  11. Love the stance! The colors really suit the truck. David G.
  12. I love the color! That blue contrasts nicely with the red on the frame. David G.
  13. @SpikeSchumacherThose are some great looking paint jobs. I like your work with belt-line stripes, good masking skills. David G.
  14. That'll be cool! Do you plan on making decals or hand painting? David G.
  15. That's a great idea to use the rail car decals. I'm going to have to see if I can get ahold of some of those. David G.
  16. Nice work getting the wheels on the ground Bruce. That can sometimes be quite a challenge on these old Monogram kits. The interior looks fantastic too! Great color choice for the leather seats. David G.
  17. Excellent progress on this one, it's going to be a fantastic build when it' finished. David G.
  18. Those are some beautiful color combinations you came up with. And it looks like the paint laid down quite well for you. Nice work! David G.
  19. Nice work building all the shop equipment. I like your rust and dirt detailing too. David G.
  20. Great detail work on the side spear and wheel covers. I'm curious about the wheel covers. Did this kit come with decals for the "E"s in the center? The AMT '58 Pacer kit didn't so I hand painted them. David G.
  21. Good work on the engine and exhaust installation. Fitting and installing nonstandard parts is so much easier in 1:25 scale plastic than it is in full scale metal. David G.
  22. I have too Carl, it's a good interior color. Thanks for your comment Kurt. This kit doesn't provide the front wing but there is a rear spoiler option in the kit which I will be adding. I thought about building a nose wing for it but in my research I learned that it was most likely a dealer add-on meant to sidestep bumper height requirements in certain US states. I decided not to go to the trouble of building and adding a non-standard accessory. That, and recently I've begun to see the nose wing as superfluous and clunky. It kind of disrupts the visual flow of the car's lines. David G.
  23. Hello Everybody! Here's another test fit with the interior tub in place. Though it can't be seen here, I've painted the inner body shell with flat black and Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand. Light Sand will be the primary interior color. It looks like the rear deck lid will need a little adjusting to obtain a proper fit. It's hinged so it can be opened which is strange for a curbside kit. I'll probably just glue it down during final assembly. That's all for now. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post your comments. David G.
  24. You may not have finished the car Dennis but it looks like you ended up with a pretty good diorama! Mine's not nearly as complex of a kit, just a curbside with poseable steering and opening doors. David G.
  25. It looks fantastic Bob, your best one yet! David G.
