  1. Hello Everybody! Now it's on to the Mummy Hat. I've stripped the chrome and done some preliminary cleanup and glued it together. There is a bit of the opening that comes up short and needs to be built up. I've glued on a small strip of styrene to take care of that. Here we are all cleaned up, smoothed out, primed and ready and ready for chroming. I ran out of the DupliColor chrome I've been using recently and the only replacement I could find was Rustoleum's version. I've read good things about it online, we'll see. The Rustoleum chrome came out pretty good. Maybe even better than the DupliColor. As always, thanks for stopping by for a look, please feel free to post a comment. David G
  2. Cool, thanks for the history lesson Alan. The Mummy Machine version you linked to is the one I had as a kid, I remember the box art well. I'd still like to get a copy of the Red Baron kit. Thanks again for the information. David G.
  3. Sweet engine bay! Love the blue plug wires, nice contrast. David G.
  4. The colors, the decals, the details, they all come together perfectly. Nicely Done. David G.
  5. It looks amazing! Truly one of a kind. David G.
  6. Though I've probably owned one or two of these over the years, this will be the first one I will have completed. I think it's also one of the better ones in the set. The only other one of these that I'm interested in building is the Red Baron. The others are just... meh. David G.
  7. Given the complexity of this kit and the amount of extra work you're putting into it, it's hard to believe how quickly you're progressing on this build. It all looks fantastic too. David G.
  8. Nice work, love the patina. David G.

  20. The engine photos are excellent! Seeing the filter elements inside the air boxes adds a nice touch, well worth the effort. David G.
  21. I like the color combination on the bling Impala. The Wagon looks like a fun build. Great decal work on the race car. David G.
  22. In most of the photos I've seen it looks indistinguishable from the real thing. Amazing detail work! David G.
  23. Thanks Joe. It looks a little better than the chrome coating that came with the kit. Thank you Bob. Thanks Carl. No it's not hot at all, it seems to be a different formula than the rest of the DupliColor line. Thank you Jim. I agree, it looks good enough for most purposes and seems to be a lot more durable than Alclad. Thanks again, David G.
  24. Hello Everybody! I finally have the rear axle to a point where I can be content with it. Onward! The kit chrome had some flash, a few scratches and flaws as well as some bad attachment points so I stripped off the chrome to better address these issues. Here are the top-engine parts all cleaned up and re-chromed with DupliColor chrome paint. Here's the nearly completed engine painted the same red as the chassis. Because, why not? I still have a lot of filling and smoothing work to do on the air scoop. Or "Mummy Hat" as I have come to call it. As always, thanks for stopping to take a look and comments, criticisms and questions are always welcome. David G.
  25. Thank you Joe, I appreciate that. David G.
