Excellent looking models! The diorama is great too. I love the burnout marks, I may have to borrow that idea when I build my dio. David G.

Thanks Guy! I plan on putting a rivet strip between the sides of the front segment and main body just ahead of the doors. My intent is to help hide the joint between the two areas so I don't have to spend as much effort to smooth and shape it. ;). Regards, David G.

Thanks Dann,. Great minds and all, right? No worries Mattias. In fact, I'm quite impressed by your observations- the way you tie all the design elements together. As I was piecing this heap together, I honestly didn't give it that much thought. I guess my design plan came together on more of a subconscious level. Now that you point out the way the individual elements work together, I can see what you mean. The rear wheels are actually supposed to be driven wheels. As I was building the chassis, it seemed to me that the propeller alone might not provide enough of the right kind of thrust to effectively move the vehicle, so I worked in a gear box between the radial engine and VW transaxle. The idea being that the radial engine is primarily used for driving the rear wheels and the builders decided to use the prop as a power supplement, an extra push if you will. That, and... well, it's a car with a propeller, does there need to be another reason? Based on your idea, reducing rolling resistance for a solely prop-driven vehicle makes sense. I see the merit of your suggestion but I do like the mags as they are. Thanks. I probably should close up the gap between the radial engine shroud and the gear box. I think I remember that cartoon Luke. Was that the one with Penelope Pittstop and Snidley Wiplash? Thanks for the compliment too. David G.

There's some really excellent work so far. I tried my hand at one back in 2012. I think it came out pretty good. For those who may be interested, I have a build thread on my personal web site. Here's a Link Thanks, David G.

It's almost too much for my mind to grasp. ? David G. -
Thank you Guy, I hope you enjoy it. It's not nearly as sharp as yours is shaping up to be but it is the first one I painted with an air brush. Thanks, David G.

Not much progress to report. I'm still working on shaping the hood and it's a slog. I'm spending almost all my time on the hood because without this, nothing else works. I tend to over build then reduce to fit. It's getting there. Thank you all for your support and kind comments. David G.

I love the custom roof paint and decals, top notch work. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Something about this car just calls out to be painted purple. I built one of these some years back as a tail-dragger. I wasn't following any particular customizer's work, just using some of the bits in the kit. It's not nearly as nicely done as yours is looking to be but I used a similar paint method, laying down silver first then a purple top coat. If you want to see it, I think I can drag up a photo and post it. David G.

Slow progress is still progress! It's good to know that you're still working on this one, thanks for taking the time to share it with us, David G.

I don't think that there is anything left on this kit that you haven't replaced, re-engineered, augmented or improved! I wonder if there are any of the original kit designers left out there anywhere and I wonder what they might say if they could see the work you've done. Thanks for posting these Dann, I do find that posts like yours inspire me to continue working on the projects I have going. David G.

Thanks Steve. If you do build one, be aware that the three-piece inner fender and core support assembly is rather fiddly and frustrating. David G.
