  1. A beautiful tribute build, thanks for posting it. David G.
  2. Nicely Done! David G.
  3. Absolutely amazing work on this notoriously troublesome kit! David G.
  4. Good progress on this one Roger. David G.
  5. Thank you Joe. Indeed, it certainly was a challenge but given the subject, I think it was certainly deserving of the effort. It's such a simple kit that without all the repair work on the body I probably could have built it over a weekend instead of the 46 hours it ended up taking me. Thanks again, David G.
  6. Thank you Joe! Thanks for your replies D.W. I'm glad the information is helpful. As I'm sure you know by now it looks like AMT will be granting your wish for a good gurney when the ambulance version of this kit releases later this year. As always, I do appreciate your interest and your comments. Thanks, David G.
  7. Wow, thanks for taking the time to do that Greg! I love the diorama set-up and the figures too. It looks like the JoHan cot is the best of the three with the MPS Ford van cot as a close second. I think the one I got from Three Inches Under is a modified recast of the Ford Van cot, which with some minor modifications does fit into the back of the Surf Shark. Of course all of that is moot since AMT is retooling the interior of the Surf Shark into that of an actual ambulance and adding all the appropriate equipment... Including a cot! ? I can hardly wait to get my hands on one (or two) of those. Thanks again Greg, David G.
  8. Hey, progress is progress Joe! I spent two hours of yesterday's three hour build session detail painting a set of hubcaps. And I still have more work to do on them! David G.
  9. Excellent looking set of builds for the year! I really like the stake truck but the Lindberg dirt track racers are awesome too. David G.
  10. Nice rescue! David G.
  11. What a great tribute project! Nice work adjusting the body fit. David G.
  12. Thanks Greg. If it's no trouble, I'd certainly like to see that. -D-
  13. Hi D.W., thanks for your comment. The gurney I'm working on is rough to say the least. It would probably easier for you to resize the one you have than to invest your money, time and effort in making one like this work. I certainly don't feel that this one is worth what I paid for it. But, I did buy it just to be used in this build and it will... suffice. I even considered building my own gurney. When I built my Ecto-1, I built a set of proton packs and the rack to hold them. The rack is essentially a repurposed gurney, presumably remnant of the Ecto-1's ambulance origins. You may want to consider just waiting for the AMT's reconfigured release of this kit. Had I known when I started this build that they were planning to release a true ambulance version of this kit, I would have waited for that and done something else with the Surf Shark. As I was planning and working on this build I remember thinking, "I really wish that AMT would release a version of this kit without all the Ghostbusters equipment in the interior." I guess that means that I have two wishes left. -D- Hi Greg, thanks for posting the list. My guess is that the one I'm working on is a resin copy of the one from the Rescue Van kit. There are still some of those kits in circulation, I think I will try to see if I can get ahold of one. I have yet to build a van, hmmm... Thanks again, David G.
  14. The paint job on that Porsche is amazing! ? David G.
  15. This looks like a fun project. I'm interested in seeing how you make the modifications. David G.
  16. Yeah, the "thousand and one details" stage of a build always seems like a slog to me too. I think the one thing that gets me through it is knowing how close I am to completing the build. You've done quite a lot of work on this one and it shows, it's certainly a build to be proud of. David G.
  17. The paint looks great, excellent color choice, really nice details, fabulous work! David G.
  18. Great looking paint and foil work John! David G.
  19. Hello Everybody! The self-appointed side mission of the gruesome gurney continues. Here are the gurney pieces painted and partially assembled. There's a rather noticeable warp to the main frame that I think I can correct. With the frame straightened out just a bit more I can start assembling the other components. Assemblty itself is pretty straight forward. Making it all work together within the confines of the ambulance interior is where the challenge lies. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to share any opinions, comments or thoughts. David G.
  20. That's a shame Bob. Maybe you could make it work as a barn find or junker diorama? David G.
  21. What a great looking kit-bash Joe! Watching you pull these builds together is almost as much fun as building them myself. David G.
  22. Thank you Jim. David G.
  23. Best of luck with the paint. David G.
  24. Good progress on this one Bob, nice catch on the fender ding. This one seems to be fighting you every step of the way but I'm sure you'll get things worked out and come up with another one of your high quality builds. David G.
