  1. This is good advice. I’ve used this method with success. Definitely works on Pocher tires.
  2. Hundreds of kits in the stash and no way in Hades to ever build them all...:)
  3. I've had some success using hot water dips alternating with cold for resin but I've never tried on a primered part before. I hope you can save this. If not, I guess there is always the kit body...
  4. Got this 510 yesterday. One of my needful things cars. The body parts were badly painted but they're out of the pond and came out perfect. Kit is otherwise mint inside the box. The other kits I just won early this morning. I had been watching these for a week or so and the seller finally sent an offer I couldn't refuse. What worked out to $16 each shipped was too good a deal for me to pass on. Seller stated that he didn't know if any were complete, but they look pretty close to me. Will inventory when they arrive. I realize they're not the most desirable but they are all early issues, 60's and 70s kits and this sure beats a trip to Ollies or Walmart to pick over the leavings.
  5. I really dig that Celica. I wanted one of those 1:1 in the worst way. That, and the 80s Celica Supra and the Mitsubishi Starion...I could go on...
  6. Watching with interest! I enjoyed your video on the differences between this and the earlier kit, which I have in my stash. It's sealed and may stay that way now...:)
  7. Very cool work here! Your countertop is extremely realistic. I believe this technique is referred to as "hydro-dipping".
  8. Doesn't matter where it is, it's amazing!
  9. This is small potatoes when it comes to being irked but - When you finally spot something for sale on eBay that looks like an ok deal, get an offer from the seller that's even better, then look at the shipping and realize the seller is making up for the low price by padding the shipping. The price ends up being the same or more than other sellers. Annoying, but easily avoided.
  10. You have my attention! I have one of these kits and am very interested in seeing what you do with it. Good luck!
  11. Don't lose too much sleep over that. I visited an Ollie's about an hour away from me and it wasn't a great experience. The store was dirty, the cashier was surly and the whole place felt horrible. But then, again, it was just before Christmas. They had 5 Monogram kits to choose from and I took home three. I'll probably never go back unless I'm just in the neighborhood.
  12. Why would you resell it if you just got it?
  13. Bill, this is my favorite of the bunch. I'm a resto-rod kid of guy and this ticks all the boxes for me. Color, stance, wheel choice, etc. Your execution of this build (as well as the others) is something for us all to aspire to.
  14. Ahhh, thanks very much!

I think this is the specific one that Carl is looking for. Carl - If you can't get one otherwise I'll hook you up.
  16. Very nice work. Love the color and interior work.
  17. Can't see them either. Perhaps intentional?
  18. I love how this came out! You've really done a great job. It was definitely worth pushing though the doldrums to get to this point. The rest should be a cakewalk.
  19. Outstanding build! Makes me want to break out one of my 41s.

    In need of

If I can chime in...that's the one. With the cowboy hat. I think there is the same figure less hat in the Little Coffin model.
  21. I didn't see your post before I replied with almost the same thing. Not being a Brit, the whole "Damp Squid/Squib" thing doesn't make a lot of sense to me - but I get the drift. I have to agree about the show, funniest stuff ever. My kids found it and shared with my wife and I. We watch it still whenever we need a laugh. I bought the set on DVD years ago and hung on to them. Soon all the streaming services you pay through the nose for will be charging for the privilege of watching your favorite shows...oh, wait. They already are. And forcing commercials down your throat. Is this the "What Irked You?" thread?
  22. My kids still watch that all the time and they're in their 30s! They also really like rifftrax.
  23. The Corvair and the Honda hit the sweet spot for me. They're all very well done.
