  1. After finding out about R&D Unique I went snooping and found these items for cheap. Most of the stuff listed on eBay is very high. These were all very inexpensive for some reason. Restores your faith in humanity. I'm pretty stoked about the air compressor mainly.
  2. At least for the moment, Firefox is treating me very well. I use it in conjunction with Privacy Badger, AdBlocker Ultimate and Duckduckgo Privacy Essentials as well as Cookie Auto delete. Seems like a lot, but they are all free and work flawlessly together. I never have any hiccups, and zero ads on any site. If a site wants me to disable ad blockers to view it I handle it on a case by case basis. Personally I can't imagine using Chrome. It's too much Big Brother for me.
  3. I have that Lotus kit and man it's cool. They're usually way expensive and rare these days but I lucked out and got one semi-cheap. If possible, I'd love to see the one you built, black plastic and all.
  4. I found this kit on ebay. It was listed as no box and seller didn't know what version of the trucks they were, but they were sealed in bags . As it turns out the box was original, just missing the artwork, and the kits were packaged together by a now defunct railroad hobby supplier. I printed an image found online and affixed it to the box. Now it at least looks original.
  5. Beautiful! I especially like the little Chevy pickup.
  6. There should be a version of this with a jacked up diesel pickup. That seems to be where the "real men" migrated to.
  7. This is a topic each individual has to decide for himself. I doubt it's proper content for this forum.
  8. Nice, creative job on all. I especially dig the Meter Cheater! I have a T-Bone Stake to build and I like seeing others of this ilk.
  9. Outstanding work all around! The figures and interior textures are very realistic. The diorama tells a little story which adds to the interest hugely.
  10. Super smooth and clean build. Well done sir!
  11. Pretty phenomenal work you're doing on this. Love the truck!
  12. It's the 47 and 48 grilles as well. In my opinion the whole front of the car is too flat and the corners are too sharp.
  13. Too late! I tried to get my boy interested long ago but he is now 34 and out in the world. I think video games were a big part of the reason. On the bright side, he's now a professional hydro-electric engineer, so the games didn't seem to melt his brain.
  14. I never throw out anything useful in styrene terms any more. My kids are gonna hate me when I'm gone!
  15. I actually clamped the glass in place to help maintain the contour. I found it difficult to keep the post aligned and the roof square without it. Since its full of stress cracks I won't be using it except for potentially a junkyard diorama. As far as the roof - I hope it went to a good home. It seems like all of these are broken for some reason.
  16. Can you explain this a little further for my weak brain? It sounds like you might be suggesting a contour template?
  17. Man, coming from you, that is high praise. Thanks for the vote of confidence!
  18. Both of them look great. I particularly like the sedan. Where did you get the rims?
  19. That's a thing? For taggers and stuff?
  20. Nicely done, Tom! In retrospect, this might have been cleaner, at least for me. I love the use of the bed to build that rat rod. The great thing about plastic is that...it's plastic!
  21. Anyhow, here is my repair so far. I used thin sheets of styrene and built it up to a little over the thickness I needed. Sanded and filed on it for a bit to shape it. I'm not totally mad at it. Needs some finesse which I'm not sure I'm capable of. I shot some primer to see where I was working better. Comments and suggestions welcome.
  22. That would work, but as I'm not set up to do resin I think it'd be a lot cheaper to sacrifice a cheap-ish kit. On the other hand I do want to try making some of my own stuff...:)
  23. Thanks Mark! I knew someone with more knowledge would chime in.
  24. Years ago friends of ours honeymooned in Cancun. One night they ordered pizza via room service. The "pepperoni" was slices of hot dogs.
