Wow, seriously nice. Who wouldn't want to take this for a beach cruise?

This car is built just right. Great rim choice!

I've had perfect experiences with Rocketman455, Slotto and Slusher (who provided me some spare parts for nothing in return) in the past couple of weeks. All great folks to deal with!

I have ordered several items from Joel and I'm pleased with all of it. Only my flat wallet keeps me from ordering more at the moment...

I'm certain that the corporations that are bleeding us dry every month for all that content will have something to say about that. This looks like a bit of a scam to me. No major tech sites are talking about it.

That, my friend, is some very impressive work! I actually have that TJ kit that I got as a built up. Didn't know what to do with it until now... (I was going to use it to replicate my own 98 TJ but the roll bars weren't correct.) I've since located a proper kit for my replication, so this one is an orphan now. On the other hand it might be fun to do this swap with a CJ...Daisy Duke will not recognize it when I'm done! Here's my TJ:

Ok, you can’t just drop a bomb like that and not share details. Is this an available front end??

That bump is definitely too pronounced when compared to the real stock hood. Maybe it can be corrected with a little massaging. Hope so.

Thanks for sharing the picture. That hood scoop is a non starter, at least on this kit. Sometimes it makes me wonder what the designers were thinking when stuff like this appears in kits. Very few of us would have decided that that scoop was a good idea on a real truck, then only with alcohol involved. Mine is on the way anyhow ?

Stupendous! (Only superlative that hasn't been used yet).

I'm not a fan of actual rat rods so I almost didn't look at this thread. This qualifies as a hot rod in my mind. Glad I dropped by. What a great old hot rod you've built!

D3. Cragar mags belong on a classic Nomad. There’s reason they were ubiquitous.?

Nice looking rig. Makes me wish I could have been old enough to buy one of these new...sort of.
-
Very interested to see where this ends up! Good work so far.
-
No worries! I genuinely thought there may be another flat hood. In which case I'd have to go find one. *sigh*

Nice work! Good to see stock builds.

I really like this! I love these old Jags.
-
Edit: I think there is a stock hood with an optional hood scoop. Is there a completely flat hood for this truck that I'm unaware of?

I'm not so sure. Watch the HPI Guy review. I think there are two hoods. Edit: I think there is a stock hood with an optional hood scoop.

Got this box of kits from an auction. There were two pictures, none of the contents, and an almost nonexistent description but I took a shot in the dark. All kits were sealed inside and un-started but the 32 has a little sanding work done on it.

This inspired me to go hunting for a Jeepster kit. These have always been fascinating to me although in real life they're clunky and old fashioned. Anyway, what I ended up with is an MPC Mount'n Goat. I watched the HPI Guy review and decided it would scratch the itch! Not the best front end on these, but if it's good enough for Freiberger...

The model car mob
redscampi replied to Chuckyg1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I understand everything you said. Won't argue any of it. The Model Car Mob article as created way back when life was somewhat simpler, is definitely a dopey list, and intended for no other purpose. I was just wishing it could remain as such without too much wrangling. The kids it was intended for (us) would not have taken it for any more than an attempt at humor. Our internet age selves are not as much fun as we used to be, and I, for one, appreciate the intentional mindless amusement of this topic. -

Yup, please. We tend to beat the stuffing out of some topics and inevitably someone gets upset. I was really enjoying the first part of this thread but it's losing focus rapidly.
