Galaxie 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster
redscampi replied to Katsusauce's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Actually, the 46, 47 and 48 models. The 42 grill would be a welcome addition. The eBay prices are nuts for sure but I've managed to snag the Aerosedan and the sedan delivery versions both for decent prices on eBay. I got the woodie version from the Galaxie Limited website for retail some time last year. I believe they're closed for business now though. I'm wanting to grab the coupe version too, but the prices are way too high at the moment. Incedentally, nice start on the kit! I'll be following as I had a real 48 Aerosedan that I was building into a hot rod, however life got in the way.. -
My Builds of the Tom Daniels designed "true" hot rods kits

It will be fun to watch a vintage kit go together. I wonder if you could paint the stripe on the wheels/tires with drill clamped in a vise and using a thin paint marker, or maybe even pinstripe paint with an appropriate brush? -
So I didn’t know where to post this (RoadKill stickers).

I'm not sure, but I doubt they exist in scale. You may need to scan an image and reduce it, then print on decal paper. -
It won't get "cold" here until next week. All 80 degrees plus this week, but raining (finally!) Next week is in the 50's...but I don't really care for cold weather or snow. Shoveled too much of that stuff over the years.

Motor home or trailer as model workroom. Anyone tried it?

That must have been some kind of trip! That's a lot of builds. -
Amazing and inspiring work!

This may be the best box save ever! I've done several of mine, but never to this extent.

The Corvette design studio went from leading the pack to trying to emulate all the European monstrosities. -
Great looking build! There's just something about old wagons.

The decals look like dirty whitewalls. Nothing a bit of elbow grease and Comet won't fix!

It's awesome! Looks like a hot wheels car. -

Thanks! That last layer of primer looks pretty cool to me too! I'd consider just that if it were not for parting lines needing attention and white plastic showing through the primer here and there. -

Here's a 61 Falcon fresh out of the pond. Sitting on a trimmed Ranchero chassis on some Pegasus rims. The hood has been cut open on this old promo and I'll be stuffing some kind of engine in it. -
These Falcons obtained recently from eBay (Red 62 and Green 61) will be reworked and supplemented by cheap AMT 60 Ranchero kits. The 62 will become a convertible with a few enhancements. The 61 will be a resto-mod.

Very cool! Can you elaborate on the kit a little? Scale, manufacturer, etc? Thanks!

Love this! Very creative and realistic feeling.

So, your shirt now has brown pinstripes?
-
Tom, did you do anything to the paint to bring it back? It looks decent!

I can feel my legs sticking to the the vinyl of those seats right now.

Jay, I agree with you. You can make almost any car look killer with the right stance and rolling stock. This is a beautiful car! Can't wait to see more from you.
-
Not to mention it's more than $5 more a can at Megahobby! The advantage of Megahobby is that you get free shipping on orders over $150 (US orders). So, if you order a few kits as well you might come out ok on overall cost.
