68 Camaro El General Pro Mod (updates 05/06/12)
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
This is piece of art! Great build! This was very fun to follow, and I'm impressed of your building skills. And the best thing is, that it's in 1/25 scale, not bigger. Paintjob turned out great, and engine detail is incredible, as always. I really like this one, it looks like it could race on the Drag Strip every day. -
Any news on Revell '67 Chevelle pro street?
W-409 replied to CEKPETHO BCE's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The Tail light panel, what comes with the kit is ugly, as Andy said. Revell should include that original taillight panel in the box too, because those original ones are really hard to find, and I'm afraid that I have to buy a new kit to get that panel. -
Cool Ford, it's always nice to see these "cheaper" models being built, not always the Fairlane, or Impala etc. Great job on the conversion and paint looks good too. I'd like to see just some more pictures.

It looks very good so far, I like the paint job on it. I usually like Shiny paint jobs, but this one could have been cool as a Rat Rod too. Anyways, it looks good in gloss green too. Just one question, what came to my mind when I was planning to do something like this.... Did you Narrow the body?

This was very hard one, I used few hours trying to find out, what it is. But I didn't get it this time, I had no idea at any point. Well at least I was pretty sure that it was Real, not a Model.

1/16th 69 Camaro ProMod 7/22/14 motor painted
W-409 replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Great Job with the engine so far, Romell! I have to say, that even if the engine could look bit rough when it's under construction, there's lots of work behind and how many of you could build that nice cylinder head from brass? I know that I can't. Anyway you are doing awesome job with this Pro Mod Camaro, this will be amazing when finished.- 245 replies

This Finnish '55 Chevy was one of the most beautiful Drag Cars, I've seen, it's a shame that it flipped over few years ago. But here are some pics of it in action. Just click the little picture on right hand side, and you can move to the next image. I still remember that wheelie, it was wild. http://sg470.pictures.fi/kuvat/2004+Kuvat/PICT0197.JPG The car was called "Bad-55".

Wow! I thought that pics from 1:1 cars were not allowed! Just kidding, great job on the interior. As Harry said, very clean and sharp details all over. I like that shift diagram too, but those carpets are amazing. Corvette textes are very sharp. Also you've managed to get perfect paint shade for the seats.

Thanx Scott! More work done with the Chevelle, I built tubings from Turbochargers to the Fuel Injection system, and added air cleaners. They need some paint before I can call them done though. I also cut some material off from the front end of that engine bay, to make bit more space for the turbos. Continued that hood also, I added that little "high spot" from metal wire. Next I need to add some bondo.

Lots of work ahead in this project but I think it'll turn out great. I'm interested of seeing more .

Nah, the ride height looks good to me. I like to see one Mustang which is NOT Lowered, even if the wheels are changed. It looks kinda factory made anyway even if those wheels aren't original.

Very Cool Willys build. Can't believe that it's like brand new, after around 30 years sitting in the display case! I like the paint on it and you nailed that right stance and look of early 60's Gassers.

That's great to hear, someone else thinks same way as I do. I usually take part to Model Car Shows, and sometimes I win something, but that's not the point. As you said, "I do it for the fun of trying to build a nice replica of the real thing" is because of I build models too. Charger is coming along great, it looks very good. I can't wait to see more work.

Thanks, Matti ! Some more done with the Chevelle. I removed part of those inner fenders from the front end. Now headers fit, they are built from solder, as those Turbos too. But the engine is so huge that headers can't go between frame rails, and that's why engine needs to sit bit higher. Because of that, I sanded intake manifold thinner as it was, so it would be lower. But that wasn't enough so I lowered those tubes between the manifold and the Fuel Injection system. Now that fits under the hood, and turbos fit there too. Plug Wires are installed too. Next steps are exhaust pipes and rest of those turbo tubings.

Very Nice Dragster! I like the detail on it, incredible. Paint is great too, and those front wheels look awesome. Really great job all over, makes me wanting to build one.

Thanks Both! Michael's build will be very interesting too . Cylinder Heads are resin castings by me, and intake manifold & that fuel injection system are from Revell's '37 Ford. It's not fitting under the hood now, but I need to make it bit lower. Also you can see that headers are not going to fit, so I must modify those inner fenders a bit. Made those Turbos too, but they need lots of work before I can install them.

Well I'll be watching this one, the Vette was great build and this looks very mean too. I hope to see more progress soon.

Cool HemiDart, never seen one with a FlipNose. You did great job with it. Paintjob and details look sharp and it's very clean build over all, no mistakes anywhere.
-
One Great build again! Charger looks mean when it sits like that and those rear tires are huge! -That's good thing of course. Engine detailing is super and I like those Hemified decals on the roof.
