Yeah, little accident happened with this model on the last contest. The Flip-body was open, and it fell down. Windshield and the Firebird Decal got some damage, but I fixed them as good as I could. Especially that decal is not as good as it was, but I guess it's better than nothing. Took some outside pictures too, here you go.

69 Daytona Pro Mod 1/16th scale updated 4/3/12 ..It's a wrap!
W-409 replied to Romell R's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hopefully the first burnout is something like this... Fast Freddy From Sweden! Tires looks great, can't wait to see more. This is really impressive Daytona build. -
dirty donnys (vantasy)
W-409 replied to stulee11's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Turned out very nice Chevrolet Van! Cool, those decals look like traditional '70's stuff, and paintjob is great. Nice detailing too. Maybe this kit would be great to have. -
How focused are your scale modeling interests?
W-409 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I build mostly Old School stuff, but Stockers are today's technology, because otherwise they could be in the ladder if they were 1:1 size. So they would be too slow then. But other than those, I build only Old School, and for example big wheels are something, I'm not using. I've sold every set of them away when some model kit has them. -
1/16 Engine Build
W-409 replied to Pro Tech's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That engine looks incredible, very nice detailing and cleanly built engine. I've always liked of building engines the best, and maybe that's why I like this so much. Beautiful job overall, as always. -
Great Corvette. I like seeing these old Race cars being built too and this looks amazing. Paintjob looks good, and detailing is great all over.
-
Thanks guys! McLaren looks very good too, and can't wait to see pictures from the Corvette. I have some work done for the wheels of that Corvette, but I post picture later, as I get my camera back.

2011 Brad Keselowski Charger
W-409 replied to MarkJ's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Cool Charger NASCAR! Build was great to follow, and you did amazing job with the bodywork and painting. Decals are great too and tires look good. Thanks for sharing this awesome build, Charger is looking good as a Nascar racer. I took this bad quality picture last winter at Daytona Speedway. -
69 Nova outlaw prostreet Finished (09/02/12)
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Nova is looking great so far. Body is great in primer, and that scoop fits nicely to Nova body shapes. I like the chassis too. Painting is great, and I would say that you make this things looks so easy to do, even if they aren't so easy. -
Nice build again, Darryl! I really like Altereds and this looks just right. Wheels are perfect, especially in the front. Where are they from? Engine detailing is great, and I like the painting.

There's no kit from '79 Skyhawk, and I'm 99% sure about it. All Skyhawks, I've seen are older ones ('75-'76 or so.) That's really sad that I haven't seen any resin bodies either, and problem is that '79 is Completely different than those older year models. I have AMT Monza 2+2 and that would be great basis for Skyhawk conversion too. I'm building mine as Monza now, maybe conversion would be nice to do later.

Here are first pictures of my '82 Outlaw Street Corvette. In Outlaw Street car category, "Safety index" is 7.50 and you can build your car quite freely. This Vette will be with 572 BBC and blower. First pictures show little mock up before I cut more of the chassis. Front tires and wheels are going to change, but those are just placed for Mock Up.

Sure, Liam! You are on the list again.

Here are some pictures about my progress. First I'd like to say Thank you Corey and Matt for the pictures. I installed those plumbings. Not too great, but I will think about doing them again, it is possible that engine don't fit in with those mounted like that. But let's see, I need to do little mock up and look if everything fits. Also some carburetor work, I made that white piece from styrene and drilled few holes there, to match 1:1 scale carb better. Now I'm just thinking about painting the carburetor. Maybe a mixture of silver and gold would work the best? That color I painted earlier doesn't look good to my eye. The carburetor looks rough, but I will make it better. -
'73 Chevrolet Chevelle- Mastered by Tom Ellifritt
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Great to see that there are some other people interested about this year Chevelle too, usually when I see some listings on Chevelles, they end after year '72. Anyway, I've been thinking about making the conversion. And Hey, Look At These!!!!!! And one with Laguna nose. On the last one those rear wheel openings on the body look pretty good. But it's $100 on Nascarmodelkits.com Maybe the best way would be buying Model King kit, and then just making those wheel openings smaller, and some other modifications what are necessary. -

No pictures yet, but some progress has been made. I try to take some pictures tomorrow, when it's not dark. Otherwise engine looks horrible in the pictures, but anyway I've made some progress with plumbing. Maybe I can install the carburetor tomorrow. -
Very nice Torino build! Great to see one Petty Ford, because usually when someone says Richard Petty, always there's Superbird first in mind. Great paintjob on this one and decals fit nicely to the body shapes. Thanks for sharing it, turned out really nice.

That's cool! Ford Fairmont is pretty cool looking car, and these will look very good when finished. I'd be happy with one Fairmont body too.

I cleaned the carburetor a bit, and it looks much better now. Now perfect, but OK for me. Also removed the fuel pump and fuel line to Holley Carburetor, and new fuel line is installed to Rochester carburetor. I will scratchbuild new electric fuel pump and fuel filter later. First picture shows what I removed from the engine, the second one is with the carburetor installed and new fuel line glued on its place.

Bought Revell '10 Mustang kit, and I'll be building it as Super Stocker. I have some pics from the engine and two from the interior. Also one from the trunk. Otherwise I'd like to see some reference pictures, especially from the chassis and engine. Also some advice on what needs to be done would be great, especially with that engine, since I don't know anything about it because it's modern technology. The WIP can be seen on Community Builds section on 2005-2010 Mustang build thread.

Yeah it is. And pretty high too. Can't believe that it's built to 1989 "World's Fair". And the idea was that they take it apart after that World Fair thing was over. Luckily they didn't. We were on the second floor. Pretty high, even if it don't look like it from the picture. It's only on halfway through the tower, but we could'n get to the top because elevator was broken.

Thanks Larry, needs to check it out. I painted the engine block and other engine parts with spray can before going to Paris. I haven't been looking of those parts yet, how they look when dry, so I maybe have to clearcoat those parts before assembly.

That's it, I'm back from the Paris. Great place, and luckily people understand english and they speak it too. I visited in two shops. -Eol Paris 3 Rue Du Louvre Great shop with lots of diecasts and RC stuff. Some model cars too, mostly Japanese or European. Some Rally Cars too, but they were new ones, oldest ones were maybe 90's. Some Evergreen stuff and great selection of paints. I found one paint there, which was pretty close of BMC Engine Green. Pretty close to Louvre museum, so location was good. -AJC 78 Rue Des Pyrénéés Small shop with lots of stuff inside. Not much room to walk or look for the model kits, but just enough. Lots of diecasts too, but many models from American cars. Some European cars and RaceCars too. I really liked this shop, and prices were great. Location is little minus, but luckily Paris has nice Metro, so it was possible to drive on right street. Some walking was needed to find correct number from that street, but the shop was worth it. I bought '70 Challenger and '10 Mustang there. Sad thing was, that there was no time to visit in Au Chat Botte. But it looks like four days is not enough for big city like Paris. Maybe next time we have to stay longer and visit more model shops. Of course visited at Eifel Tower, Louvre, Moulin Rouge (not inside, though), Notre Dame and some others, which are too difficult to write correctly. This picture was taken on evening:

Is it still possible to join in? If so, I bought Mustang kit and I'm ready to stick my hands inside the box. So it'll be '10 Ford Mustang Super Stocker
