One of my favorite manufactures, wish Id bought more Johan kits when they were still on the shelves. You've really done a fine job on this one, are the hood pins BMF or other? They really stand out and look just right.

My 1st Big Rig "Blue Collar"
Old Buckaroo replied to James2's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Don't be discouraged - its modeling not defusing explosives. Each build you always find something to improve on or do differently. Ive got a pic of the old Frightliner coe we had on the ranch, yes you can see the rivets but very subtle. Not Titanic boiler rivets - I will find that pic and upload it for you later. -
My 1st Big Rig "Blue Collar"
Old Buckaroo replied to James2's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
You're making great progress and this is one of the best AMT kits out there for making different variations. I also backdated one back in my early years on the forum 2014 ? You can see the pics (maybe dang watermarks) and perhaps get some ideas -
Today for the loss of one of Nascar's legends Bobby Allison 1937 -2024 ?

Revell 1970 Ford Torino Cobra 1/25 Scale.
Old Buckaroo replied to Dragonhawk1066's topic in Model Cars
Great looking Torino , love the color of it. I'll tell you sometimes it the littlest details that catch an eye - for me it was the upper radiator brackets. That is impressive for a kit -
Zvezda STZ-5 Tractor
Old Buckaroo replied to PatW's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That looks cold and miserable to be out in. I don't imagine there was anything comfortable about that. You've done a fine job with that kit and the added cover! -
Mid 60s Peterbilt Unilite COE
Old Buckaroo replied to RoninUtah's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great job on the backdating , there is nothing you cant accomplish with a razor saw and some styrene sheet with these kits.. -
That's a really fine looking buildup of one of my favorite drivers. I loved this era of Nascar.

Winter project need suggestions
Old Buckaroo replied to JerseeJerry55's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use to get a lot of my vintage truck schemes from real trucks that were for sale posted on ebay - many times you will find very detailed photos of the interior and chassis. I built a double sleeper IH 4070a from a photos of real truck that was for sale. The tread is buried here deep on the forum, but I'm sure photobucket watermarked all the pictures. -
I always look forward to your subjects! For a transport consideration - The 1/25 USPS Ford C900 combined with the MPC 1/25 72 chevy ramp truck ... Ive been meaning to do that combo for years.

1/32 Freightliner cabover
Old Buckaroo replied to Rockford's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The wooden engine is great, cover it with some thin styrene and bits to detail more and it would look really convincing. I always enjoy checking out your 1/32 fleet! I have a set of 10 rubber tires for 1/32 semi, if you can use them pm me. Yes I know you are in the UK -
1950 Chevy COE Tanker
Old Buckaroo replied to Warren D's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That is a great looking old truck, first time Ive seen the JF tanker built into something. -
As the title says, I'm in search for a hood, doesn't matter if painted. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you Sean D

I'm in awe at the level of detail on this build, you've done a really fine job. I'm looking forward to what you work your magic on next. -
Not true - I don't frequent this forum or post as much as I use to - But this is one thread I always check first as its good for a laugh.

I also eagerly awaited this kit to arrive at the mailbox. You're off to a great start and the extra work is gonna make this a winner. Thank you for showing the details and I cant wait for the next update.

“BUILDING THE COVERS “ VOL #30 LANDY’S 1965 AWB DODGE
Old Buckaroo replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
I always look so forward to your "Cover Cars" - fabulous work on Landys AWB ! The Moebius release cant arrive soon enough... -
Single exhaust is actually pretty simple - Ive taken the kit dual and cut off the offending pipe at the split and used a sanding stick to make it flow into the remaining pipe. (wish I had a picture) You can also use solder wire to build your on piping coming off the turbo to the stack, or use bendy straw elbows and kit pieces of pipe for exhaust piping configurations. Practice and test fit to where you get something that looks good and doesn't interfere with other parts. I'm sure whatever you decide will look great!
