  1. The rears could roll down, but they'd have to 'rotate' downward somewhat in doing so. Think '56-'62 Corvette door windows.
  2. Wow Pat! I REALLY like the conversion on this and yours looks soooo much better than the 1:1! I saw that car at our Chryslers at Carlisle show last year, and while it was interesting, something about it just seemed off to me. You pointed out the windshield, and that's exactly what it is! MUCH better using the G series roof and A pillars. Also, Chrysler had plenty of unibody four door hardtops over the years. Chrysler Corp went unit construction starting with the '60 models (save for Imperial) and each division had its share of four door pillarless models to choose from. Imperial would go unit body starting with the '67's and they still had four door hardtops in their lineup. I'm not sure your model would look right with no B pillar-------something about the shape of the roof doesn't lend itself to that. Maybe blacking out the pillar would be nice, or leaving the pillar but getting rid of the door window frames ala certain Japanese models.
  3. Good to see this one back and yes, the box art looks great! I built one of these many years ago (early '90's), and don't remember it being difficult at all. One change I'd have to make though is the grille is a little too upright when placed as is. It needs to have a bit more 'slant' to it to appear more like the 1:1.
  4. Wow! Thanks for posting that Rex! I have this kit too with a TON of pics, and I didn't realize either that the blue was that bright. This is on my someday list to build too, but first order of business if I ever get around to building it is to chuck those plastic door hinges. Those are a big no-no in my world as they never hold up for me over time!
  5. A '68 was my Mom's first new car............... I think this pic was taken Easter Sunday of '68.........had to be as I didn't have glasses yet, but would definitely need them before I started school again later that year. She later got rid of it and during the summer of '69, she got another Javelin. This one had the 390/auto with air, power steering and brakes. She would have that one for the next 10 years and yes......you just don't see them anymore on the roads. IMO, one of AMC's best designs along with the AMX!
  6. Yes! Moebius are you seeing this?? Lots of versions can be done especially with the '68-'70's. AMX's should be in the mix no doubt! As nice as those old Johans are body shape wise, it sure would be swell if we could get these with detailed chassis' and engine bays.
  7. It certainly does! Beautiful!
  8. Wow! Interesting conversion! While I like the '66-'69 Rivieras better, the '70 is interesting as it was sort of a one year deal. Lots of changes that made it stand out from the other years. I'm definitely following along!
  9. You're a braver man than I........cutting the body totally in two! Just the same, a very clean job and there's just a teeny suggestion I'd make-------I'd make the doors a bit longer, and lessen the distance between the trailing edge of the doors, and the leading edge of the rear wheelwells. That's just me though as I like 'sports cars' like this to have the rear wheels as close to the doors as possible. Think Corvette.
  10. Nice looking Camaro.........more pics would be a bonus however! Also........................there is no "e" in Camaro!
  11. Dominick, that looks fantastic! Interesting that Revell never did this one from their '62........now that you're building one, you know that'll happen!
  12. No pics here on my end either. I've tried on my desktop at work and also my phone.........two different browsers but no dice.
  13. I'll be definitely following this one as this another of my dream projects! Very interesting car, and I just learned of it a few months ago.
  14. No, I didn't get pics of that one. That show comes up every year in here in PA in Lancaster County (LCBC), so hopefully whoever owns it will come back next year. I missed the show this year due to not so nice weather (for me), but I'll try to get there again next year. That show is quite interesting as it's not limited to a certain genre, so just about anything will turn up.
  15. Ooooh! I like what I see so far! I just hope it's not cantankerous to put together like the last Revell kit I did (BMW 850i).
  16. TMR posts that transkit from time to time on eBay, but as of right now he has none listed. You can check here for a completed auction if you want to get an idea for what it looks like. I've bought from him in the past, and his castings are VERY good and he ships quickly.
  17. Snake, you're spot on with your view of Revell's '67 Camaro. I hadn't paid attention to that when the kit first came out, but I went ahead and bought one anyway because I like the car, and can remember them very well when I was a kid. I got real curious about how off that really was, so a last year at a car show I got some nice up close and personal shots of a '67. The lady who owns this one was very nice, and while she wasn't a model person, she understood how our minds operate, and how we like things to be correct. Also, I had to see first hand what you meant about the front end being too 'square'. So I got a nice dead on shot of this '67 Pace car at the same show, and yup...........that kit's front end DEFINITELY needs some work. In regards to the '68 Chevelle, as I mentioned earlier what I see so far looks mighty nice to me. I'm sure though that once the kit's in my big 'ole hands, there may be a point or two that might need tweaking. But nothing I've seen so far that screams out "FIX ME"! BTW, for those of you that were around when Moebius was showing test shots of their '61 Pontiac Ventura, one of the things we noticed IMMEDIATELY, was the lack of the little 'kickup' that all 1961 GM B-Body bubbletops had at the base of their C pillars. It was noticeable enough that they indeed fixed it before the final product hit the shelves, and I give them major props for that as that version IMO has the most correct roofline of those types of kits done. So that goes to show that they indeed do listen..........acting on what they hear can be another story though.
  18. Oh my........... The roof is too low. The fins (rearmost) are too low. The trunk is not the correct shape and height. The engine is woefully wrong-----not quite a 318 poly, but not quite a 350 engine either. Of the ones I've seen built....right out of the box the stance seems wonky to me. Proceed with caution! That kit is on my short list of projects.......I'm taking a break from the superdetailed stuff for a while though, but I do have plans already laid out to fix all of those foibles.
  19. UGGGH! I heard years ago a story of how this thing ended up the way it did, but I don't want to repeat something and not get it right. Had something to do with Aurora trying to change up midgame on the GTO and this was the result. Heck, I'd take ESCI version over this abomination-----at least that can be corrected with some effort. No amount of effort will EVER get this one to look correct! Seeing a kit that's woefully incorrect BEFORE getting it out of the box?? My favorite 'whipping boy'........the '58 Plymouth Belvedere. I could go on (and have) for hours about what's wrong with that one.
  20. Seems as though you should be able to right click on the pic, choose 'copy' or "copy image' and paste it here in the text box. The pic should show as soon as you paste it. I use Fotki, and I do this all the time...........either on IE at work, or at home on Firefox. I don't have Flickr, but that should work with any .jpg or .png photo. Hope this helps!
  21. Call me weird, but I kinda like this one!
  22. For whatever reason the pics aren't showing on my end at work on IE. I went on my phone and WOW! Very, very nice! As some know, I once owned the 1:1 of this car------a '69 with the 390/4spd. One of the best cars I've ever owned! Absolutely terrific color on yours! One of mine too, and no....even at the car shows there just aren't many of them. What I liked best about mine is I very seldom saw myself coming and going. When I did pass someone with an AMX (or any old AMC for that matter), we'd wave to each other.
