  1. I've been avoiding adding to the stash and seriously looking at thinning out what I know I will never build....until I stumbled on a somewhat local auction for an original Revell Herbie. I kept telling myself 'no' but ended up caving and throwing a one time bid. I surprised to be the high bidder but even moreso when I wasn't sniped. I don't know if these would have been bagged inside but it appears complete and was either carefully restacked after opening or never removed from the box.
  2. Beer keg in the bed..... oil drum.....
  3. My late Brian was half husky and hated the cold. I would shovel a path off the deck, down the steps and half way down the yard. Unless I went out with him, he would go about half way across the deck, step off the path and 'complete his transaction' being first one back at the door to go in.
  4. Balmy 9 degrees....wind chill negative 5. Wife was sure the hand me down 2003 Durango wouldn't start. Turn the lights on for a few seconds, turn them off and my youngest turned the and the 4.7L roared to life like it was the spring!
  5. My youngest got pulled over by the police last night. He was in a heavy retail area with his girlfriend when he got lit up. He was driving below the limit as his mom took out a deer with the mini van years ago and the road along side the retail is a windy, heavily wooded area. He pulls into the gas station and a second officer (K9) pulls in too. His offense? Dirty license plate. Seriously? My guess was plate readers that some cities/townships have couldn't get a read on it. It did snow off and on all day so there was some slush but there dirt on the plate from being 20 years old. I would have thought they would be more concerned that the exahust system rusted off after the muffler so while not loud, the 4.7L does give a good rumble. I told him he should have offered to let them search the vehicle as the oversized spare takes up most of the hatch. The poor K9 would have had to retire if he smelled the boys golf cleats!
  6. The red and black ones are 1/24. White one is 1/20....ish Another current truck I wish would have come out as a kit
  7. Recent auction win. Both are promos and in good shape except the 300 is missing half of the windshield frame.
  8. Cincinnati (Forest Park) store had the remaining toys tossed (from a distance) onto the tables in their specials section. Only thing left were Mach 5's and the 1/32 Green Hornet
  9. The city's trash contractor just sent out a text message that city wide trash and recycling will be picked up one day later. Thanks for the heads up considering this a.m. is our normal pick up date.
  10. Got a replacement Keurig. After a test run, boxed the old one up, took it outside, squeezed my fatness around the bar cart and opened the bombay doors. Square peg right into a square hole. Dammit....Almost!!! So much for those aptitude tests of years ago. As the teenager laughed, I explained those who can...do. Those who cannot...teach. That's why I coached little league basketball for both of my sons.
  11. Keurig died this a.m. How does it expect me to start my day without caffeine!!
  12. Reach out to the link below. It's a musuem that also restores Packard's in a former dealership.... https://www.americaspackardmuseum.org/
  13. Seven Christmas' ago, I took Brian to see Santa for his first holiday as part of my family. As you know, he passed back in April of liver cancer. This is Riley's first Christmad in her new home. When I adopted her, the shelter bear hugger her to the meet and greet and has zero interest in walks on a leash so I brought my teenager with me as I expected her to be uncooperative. He got her to the sidewalk and I grabbed a shopping cart. Other than refusal to walk in or out of Petsmart, she was great! Well.....until the drive home. I think she thought she was being turned back in again and was so worked up she yacked on the ride home. Not just a little, but more like bachelor party yack!! Glad it was unseasonably warm to detail the back seat.
  14. Not really a Ford guy, but couldn't pass up the black/black 1/18 Cobra Mustang
  15. $50 for the trio. The snap kits are F/S. The Ford is complete with excellent chrome but missing the passenger side A pillar. The box had seen better days
  16. Occassionally shows up on Big Hair era segments.....Just Between You and Me
  17. Cincinnati (Forest Park) today. There were two cases of 1/32 Green Hornet's on the tables towards the front but otherwise this was it. One of the other local stores had the Nova wagon's last week!
  18. Wife had a serious surgery on Friday a.m. Surgery was done early afternoon but I didn't get to see her until mid afternoon when she was a little more awake. She spent the rest of the day until 6:30a Saturday before they got her a room. The hospital claimed they didn't have a room ready......um, no...they were short staffed! Don't go into a career that you may have to work a holiday if you can't show up!! My wife and I are both in careers that require an occasional holiday (I missed my oldest son's first easter). We didn't get her Rx filled as she was discharged late on Saturday. Went to Walgreens first thing Sunday to pick them up....pharmacy is not open yet. Ten minutes after, I tracked down the store manager to ask if the pharmacy was going to open today. "Oh yeah, she just got here". Then she asked if can wait about 30 minutes as there were several left over from the night before that were not filled.
  19. I prefer the self checkouts! Bought six items at Ollies (four kits...all the same, box of coffee and a calendar). After I paid it just didnt sound right so I looked at the receipt.....yep charged me twice for the coffee. No one else in line so no pressure but how do you screw up a small transaction??
  20. The toy area already looked like post Black Friday sales but did manage to find a fresh box of Nova wagons. Only grabbed a few as I want to do one my family had growing up and one as the new purple Hot Wheel gasser
  21. I missed the last issue and had not seen one at shows/swap meets. Finally grabbed a sealed one at a recent toy show.
  22. Joined the ranks of grandparent this evening. Sam and mom doing well. Dad (my son) doing well too
