  1. Does it still count if its against the Mariners ??
  2. Take a close look at the pictures Jon posted above. There are some pretty big differences in the rear quarter panels and bumper, also about as many changes in the front of the 2 cars. They might look very similar but there are several subtle changes. Saying they are the same is like calling a 55 and 56 Chevy the same.
  3. I've been busy starting a new job, I hope to work on the Dart a little tomorrow.
  4. Several years ago, late 90s or early 00s, Scale Auto did a 2 part article on detailing 70s style Funny Cars. If all of my issues weren't 1000 miles away I would tell you which issues they were. They also included info on correcting the stance of some of the Revell F/C kit bodys. I'm sure someone will chime in with the issue #s or go over to the other place and check their list of back issues and you might be able to still order them.
  5. Being a snap kit all the suspention is molded in, not much to swap unless you were able to use the whole chassis from the Testors kit.
  6. No rush Chris, plenty of time to finish before December.
  7. Looks good Joe. my mom is thinking of getting a 200......now you need to make a road trip to Florida to break it in,
  8. I thought the stock seats looked small too until I saw a 63 Avanti in Auburn a few years ago and realized the bucket seats are that small in those cars. It does look strange though.
  9. There have been several 40 Fords from different manufacturers, Lindberg/Palmer, Revell, AMT
  10. Some really nice work but I have to ask, if you took the time to scratchbuild Mopar Wedge valve covers why did you add too many hold down bolts and mount them upside down ?
  11. Looks good John I think that it might make Grumpy happy.
  12. Well the moderator in question CLAIMS its his real name, but I've found out it isn't....
  13. One of the moderators isn't even using his REAL name, even though Harry and Gregg require every member here to do that.......talk about a double standard.
  14. Hey guys just checking in from my new location, I tried to post this morning from my phone but I haven't figured out how to do anything other than view topics that way. Andy, the 55 is coming along nice, Robert, I'll add you to the list later on, that fuelie engine looks nice. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my Dart in the next few days I did bring that with me along with enough tools to do the job.
  15. OK guys, I have somethings going on so I won't be able to check in much for at least the next few days but I will try to keep up with whats going on. If anyone new wants to join in I might not add you to the list right away but feel free to join in. I'll post when I can.
  16. Testors Chrysler engine blue is closer in color to what they swiched to in the 70's but still not the right shade. The turquoise color used on the 68 engine is much lighter. I'm sure you can find something from Humbrol or whatever other brands of paint are sold on your side of the pond that would come closer than the Testors. If you find a color that comes close to what is on the engine pictured above you'll be good.
  17. Looking great, I wish I could build a model this fast and have it come out looking this good.
  18. There is a cut off date but its not until October so there is still a lot of time for anyone to join in. All the rules are back on page 1 please take a look at them and I'll add you to the list as soon as you make your first post with your starting kit.
  19. Petty says they have no plans to swich but their contract with Ford does end at the end of the year, its standard practice to downplay any rumors until the paperwork has been signed. As far as engines Dodge is looking at doing things in house, but there is always Buddy/Joey Arrington who build engines for some Nationwide series and Truck teams.
  20. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Richmond Here is a short history on Tim, a great driver who never had the time to achive what he was capable of. If he had raced for a longer time his name would be better known.
  21. That is the most likely team to swich but I think they would like to also get another team.
  22. Now that teams have seen the new Charger I'm hoping that more will be interested in running it.
  23. A 57 Chrysler along with most other cars would have a semi gloss black rearend housing, the differential center section would be unpainted cast iron on a Mopar, but Fords painted theirs red oxide primer.
  24. I have seen a few cars with a big hole in the engine block with a big metal rod going through it........but they were usually finished driving.
