  1. VERY carefully, I believe I used a toothpick to paint the wiring on the last firewall I did.

    Aluma Coupe

I don't think that I've ever opened my Aluma coupe kit as yet, but I probably would just hang the 'Vair engine out the back. If I mounted it midship, then I would have to alter the interior quite a bit.
  3. Peter, you didn't say what kind of paint that you used. I always use lacquer and a month is plenty of time for the paint to "gas out" and for you to handle it.

Nice job on that full - detail kit Michael. I wish I had the full detail kit instead of the Quik Builder as I'm thinkin' of using a 'Vair engine in mine.
  5. George Carlin was a bit rude & crude, but a very funny man just the same and I enjoyed seeing him live and also listen to his tapes also. He said it like it is, and threw political correctness out the door.
  6. Congrats Clay, and good luck.
  7. Lookin' real good and that two-toned paint sets it off just right. I just love dem Mopars!
  8. The acetate is much thinner and more realistic than the kit glass anyway. I'll be making side windows on my gasser project out of colored acetate like I've seen on gassers at the drag strip and at car shows.
  9. I've seen that before and it is a cool lookin' rig, however I don't do model trucks anymore like I did in the 70's as they take up too much room. It would make a great project though.
  10. I see one model of the Futura in silver and another in Champagne Gold. So what color is the Futura as I take it that it's not the light green that the kit is molded in.
  11. I'm likin' where you're goin' with that Ford.
  12. I think that the guitar string is a lot easier to work with than straight pins, and just as strong.
  13. It's been like that for years Joe, many people who work in the retail business such as grocery stores, bars, restaurants, etc. get to work on holidays so the business can make money. When I was younger I worked in the retail food business and also as a bartender and worked on every holiday there is at least once. Somebody's got to do it.
  14. I've been adding valve stems to my wheels for years now as it adds a nice little touch to the wheels.
  15. Yes Gerry it does have a lot of potential, as I'm thinkin' slicks, straight axle, blower & injectors stickin' out of the hood, etc.
  16. Beautiful build on that Model A Mike.
  17. Please fly the flag today in honor of our fallen heroes.
  18. I use # 12 guitar string for pinning and it works great for me. I also use 5-Minute Epoxy for gluing the guitar string.
  19. Front runner Alclad? I guess that you haven't tried Spaz-Stix yet?
  20. Congrats on your new job. Yes, buying a house is like buying a second job, trust me. Good luck with your new digs.
  21. I currently avoid those issues by picking up my copies at my LHS. No lateness, no damage, NO aggravation, simple. I get it when I get it.
  22. Drove my ride to an "Open House" event at D&M Corvette today and saw some really cool cars that were on display the,re as well as the ones built by D&M which of course included the '62 'Vette that's available at your local hobby shop as well. I'm gonna hang out at the local Dog 'N Suds tonight.
  23. Glad to hear it MIles, but remember that not ALL days will be "smooth sailing."
  24. You missed a good meeting Kerry, with good friends, good food, upcoming club project, resins, upcoming model show, etc. Also did I mention great camaraderie also? Maybe next time...........................
  25. No, it should work as decals like to adhere to smooth surfaces.
