It has been noted in previuos threads that the Tower Hobbies and others will list a kit as discontinued if it is not available. It was stated above that production will be resuming in the 2nd quarter of next year. Revell has too much invested to not get this kit back on the shelves.

The cost is not an issue for me as I have a large stash of kits. If there is something new I want I will get one. Besides using coupons another solution is work a deal with your local hobby shop if you have one. When the new Revell 29 roadster came out I got a case for about $18 a kit with tax. If you don't want that many see if you can several other modelers to buy with you. There have been many threads about the economics of model kits and those factors aren't going to change. You need to be creative ifyou want to save money.

Great update. This mustang is going to be a beuaty. You are going to have to do a build book. Once you get paint on it will difficult too know how much you've done. Hope the eye issue goes away or you find a way to work around. Keep up the great work.
